Sophia, I love Henry’s expression. The Snack plates are fun, you could use the ashtray cigarette rest section for a small snack cake and rest your pastry fork in the slot. My favourite piece is the Minuet Ginger Jar. Just a little correction it is from Stoke-on-Trent (not Kent) known by most in the UK as simply ‘Stoke’. For anyone who is not from the UK, it is named after the river Trent and Trentham Priory (which was located near by) that now has Trentham House Estate (what is left of the former home of the Duke of Sunderland as most of it was demolished in 1912) built upon the former priory site.

My parents received a set of 4 of those Hazel Atlas snack trays as a wedding gift in 1955....I don't know if they were ever used. My sister inherited them and I subsequently came across more of them....I gave her some and kept the rest for myself. 🥰

Sophia, great finds! We had a Baldwin piano. "Standing" basically was referenced as "upright"" piano. I believe that was the word you were looking for. 🎶 🎵 🎼 🎹

I loved the story about the piano babies. Thank you. I have a pianola, given to me when my parents downsized to a Retirement village 5 years ago, but it’s a bit crowded on the top as both of my parents have passed away since the beginning of the year. Dad, who was 90, in January and Mum last month, 2 days before her 88th birthday. They had been together over 74 years! Consequently I have a lot of things! Dad’s ashes are on top of the pianola as well as their wedding photo, cards, flowers as well as my own photos. I’ll look out for some piano babies for the future. I think Mum would definitely approve. She loved her things.

I am sorry for your loss. It had to be difficult to lose them both in the same year.

Thank you Sophia. It was only 71 days. We are saying Mum had a broken heart after Dad passed away. It actually was her heart in the end.
