this was an absolutely horrible impression of the comic necrosword... in the comics its the original symbiote, the precursor the Venom, Carnage and all the rest but a hell of a lot more powerful since it was made to kill celestials. it never has a fixed shaped and constantly shifts its form, 90% of the time Gorr doesn't even hold it, he wears it. They likely had to get rid of the symbiote link since they'd have to involve Sony to use it but there was nothing stopping it from still being a black mass capable of changing form other then them being to lazy with this movies visual effects (ahem, ahem). im even more annoyed they never bothered exploring its links to other cosmic things like it being responsible for beheading the celestial that became Knowhere.

The movie still received an overall B rating. Thor: Love & Thunder showed further maturity in elevating Thor's benevolent character. Despite the arguments over Thor's power levels in the MCU, Thor is number one a protector. It was displayed throughout all of the key MCU movies. Thor's depression in Endgame was beautifully portrayed. He felt that he had failed. In Thor: Love & Thunder, post Endgame, he's driven once again to live life to the fullest with purpose. His brief sabbatical with the Guardians of the Galaxy restored his purpose as a hero and protector. Thor losing Jane Foster in the end had to have been heartbreaking again for our hero. But to a degree, both Thor and Gorr helped each other in the end. Gorr asking Thor to take care of his daughter helped Thor get over another heartbreak of him losing his greatest love Jane Foster. And replacing that brief emptiness with Love, Gorr's beloved daughter. Personally, I enjoyed the movie.

Worse: Every time Gorr tries to recenter the scenario on what should have been the true subject (the moral implications and questionning his character is supposed to bring), they didn't take the bait; meaning that the movie didn't need specificly Gorr as antagonist. Results?: Thor stay the same for the whole movie.

One thing I love about this film that was actually corroborated by the ending, is that Gorr was the antagonist but not necesarily the villain, and even more, he was absolutely right in that most gods (not all) are scum as proven by Zeus and the others. Like yeah, the film is coherent in establish that most Gods are simply not worthy of being worshipped

Actually, what I indeed respected about Thor was that he was finally able to reach out to Gorr. In the end, Thor decided not to pursue on stopping Gorr. Thor chose Love and chose to be with Jane Foster instead before she died. Gorr seeing this realized his goal was not all that futile in his last moments alive. That's why he chose his lone wish to Eternity to resurrect his daughter. In the end, Thor was not only at the side with his true Love Jane, but he was also beside Gorr during his last moments alive despite what he had done. His anger was driven because of a god he worshipped on his world betrayed him and his people. Even the mighty Zeus was scared of Gorr. But Thor, as all true hero risked it all rescuing his own people but sort of rescued Gorr as well. Both adversaries shared a pact together with Gorr asking Thor to take care of his daughter. That's why Thor (perhaps Captain Marvel as well) is the galaxy's mightiest hero post Endgame.

I do not blame him. Any mysterious villain has his own moral purpose to take revenge on those who are responsible for their greatest loss. Compassion is everything we would need to open their eyes and heart, it's because part of these certain characters, including Gorr, aren't truly dead.

Christan bale is a really talented actor in his movies. Batman American psycho. And other movies as a good guy or bad guy. But in this movie he is both good and bad. I knew the moment when he cut his hand on the sword that he was going to kill the god. Understandable after how he suffered and losing everything that mattered most and being called a dog and laughed at after what happened to him by the very God he believed in that alone was enough to deserve to kill him.

The moment they announced Gorr was the villain I knew we were in trouble. Even though as much as I love Taika, Ragnarok was perfect because it centered around Thors redemption arc so the villain was just an obstacle but Gorr as a character requires empathy and sympathy for the character to truly experience his level of danger and motives which were completely lost in this film
