Thank you so much for your video. More than one year i had pain, tingling and numbness and visited many doctors, but they told me "I do not know, you are a puzzle for me. Finaly, one young doctor figured out the diagnose "Thoracic Outlet Syndrome."

Glad you were able to find an answer. Can be very frustrating to hear that "I don't know" statement.

What is the difference between lower brachial plexus syndrome and theoretic outlet syndrome?
@PerformanceSportSpine
Жыл бұрын
Great question. There is some crossover, but in general brachial plexus injuries are more often caused by trauma (sports injury) whereas thoracic outlet syndrome as the causes that we discuss in the video, usually irritation from a muscle or rib.

Does thoracic outlet syndrome also affect the shoulder blade?
@PerformanceSportSpine

It can definitely affect the muscle of the shoulder blade and referral pain to different areas around or underneath it

Does venous ToS always require surgery or can physically therapy treat it?
@PerformanceSportSpine
10 ай бұрын
It doesn't always require surgery, but it does always require proper medical attention and assessment (usually diagnostic ultrasound). Physical therapy will not help this type of TOS

@@PerformanceSportSpine Thank. I’m seeing a specialist soon, but I’m just really scared. I have really tight neck and peck muscles, and some veins that show in the area of the shoulder/bicep and some slightly visible of the chest, but they become less visible if I don’t have my arms in a dependent position. But I don’t feel pain nor numbness/tingling in my arms. Is that a good sign? Is there anything I can do in the meantime?

@@ArchlordZer0 If you are concerned, we advice you to go to urgent care or the emergency room immediately. As for if that is a good sign, in general yes but can't say specifically for you. Not trying to be unhelpful, just can't say for certain.

I wouldn’t describe it as a pain but I’m having MAJOR discomfort what seems under/or near my collar and around the scalene muscles on both front sides It’s been about 3 months never ending discomfort. Started on the left side then moved to both a day or 2 later. Almost feels like nerve damage but also the top of my shoulder is the classic sore feeling leading me to think my neck just out of wack One thing to characterize the feeling is I’m unable to wear tight fitting collars on shorts now and if I lie sideways the side facing down gets some relief. Any have a cases like this? I can’t find anything at all but pain. Almost unbearable discomfort at night and flexeral pills do nothing
@PerformanceSportSpine

These cases can vary a lot. Are the symptoms just localized to the neck or do you any any extremity symptoms? Any imaging of your neck?

Overdid stretches and pain flared up unfortunately. Would it be good to stop or continue in this instance? I wanna cure my TOS but the trapped nerves are so vulnerable for exercises
@PerformanceSportSpine

Rest until you have recovered (back to baseline), then proceed with the stretches again at a slower rate. It can be really frustrating at first to go slow, but you have to progress your symptoms allow
