It's just so interesting to see this same scene from different performances. I love this particular scene...makes me teary every time...

If they make this into a film they HAVE to have the original actors. John Gallagher Jr., Jonathan Groff, Lea Michele, Lauren Pritchard, Jonathan B. Wright etc. If they cast others in the roles...I don't think it will be as credible.

@SuperGleek1196 Melchior found out that Wendla had just died. With both Wendla and Moritz gone, he didn't think there was much reason to live. So as soon as he was about to kill himself, apparitions of Moritz and Wendla came to him in an attempt that he would change his mind. He then realizes that they're not gone and will always be within him and finds a new reason to live on in memory of them.

I don't mind the pirate song, i kinda like it, cause it gives the girls ensemble another chance to sing before the finale. Jon Groff looks so young here!! JGJ and Lea are amazing as usual!! I don't like the changed lyrics at the end of TYN.

Also the change in the lyrics during the last 30 seconds of the video. As well as Melchior pushing them away versus them leaving him.

@joanna4659 Yeah Gallagher made the part in the way that Julie Ansdrews made the part of Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady. Others may do a good job but none quite the same or quite so perfect.

I hope if the Spring Awakening movie become real the producers would keep the "there was a pirate part". This was my favorite thing from the Off-Broadway production 0:24 before the cementery scene

@306tragedytown well, this was from an off-broadway production of the show - before it even got on broadway. if you watch the broadway version - which is on here - it's much better. they changed a lot of things and improved their acting a lot :)

I really like the addition of the first piece (There Once Was a Pirate?). I know it got cut from the show after it went to Broadway, but I think they should have kept it. I really like it. Its haunting. :)

@sourpatch5559 No, All That's Known is sung right before Bitch of Living. It should be somewhere on youtube, in one form or another.

I think it probably is because of Johnny and Lea's entrances. When I saw it on Broadway, they come up from under the stage.

ooohhh...no I agree that its uneccesary in the musical version. But I think its more fitting in the play..its slightly less emotional....No it would be totally unfitting in the musical
