Ballet at 70? Why not? Of course we will never arabesque across the stage, but i can already feel my balance getting better. At 70 a great fear of falling becomes pressing. Ballet has helped me tone my muscles and steady my balance. Thank you, Thuan! 👯♂️

I haven't watched the entire first episode, but as far as I know, the actor (Song Kang) actually studied ballet for 6 months, if I'm not mistaken 😙

This show sounds so sweet and I can't wait to watch it! And it's great to hear your thoughts beforehand! :) I really liked your point that the *majority* of dancers don't wind up as insta models or in the best companies. That shifted my perspective. :)

I’m getting back at 17 yrs old. No dreams of having a career as I used to, just dancing for me and rediscovering this passion ❤️

I just watched the first episode last night and really enjoyed it! I could relate too, I took ballet briefly as a child, and decided this year to start conditioning my body so I can take adult classes and finally live that dream💖

Navillera was my start into Kdramas and now they are my go-to telly ! Came to your page to practice ballet since my dance studio is closed for the day and this was a fun aside. ❤

Started watching Navillera now after watching this video. Sometimes I get discouraged and ashamed of being an adult ballet learner. Learning about other adult ballet learners makes a big difference for those like me who feel insecure about it.

Thank you so much for this rant! I’m 51 and haven’t danced since I was 14. I really want to get back into ballet. I’m subscribing to ballet beautiful which is a ballet workout. I’m so worried I will just be stiff and awkward!

I was motivated so greatly off of Navillera to get me back into Ballet. I have to say the webcomic is soooo much better, it gave so many roller coaster ride of emotions and gave all the background even showing how although the 70 yr old didn’t get offended by those who blew him off, it showed how it inspired doubts and how he moved past it as the 23 yr old supported him. I am so thankful to you as well for providing this amazing content to follow along with. I dropped ballet after 3 years of practice because I was lost after losing my best friend and original ballet instructor and when moving to another company the instructors were very harsh, didn’t work with me, and kept pushing me back while my others classmates moved into points. It really tore me apart until one day I let it go and regretted it for so many years. But I’ve been practicing for about a week now following your recordings and I truly feel something inside me reignite. Thank you so much. 💕

I know it's just a movie but has an elderly person ever tried to.learn? I'm mainly asking cuz if an elderly person can do it maybe I can too? I've loved it since I was a child but when they discovered I needed spinal surgery to fix my broken L4 disk they took me out because I was 11 and too scared to do the surgery. I don't know if I'll ever be able to have the surgery and letting it go untreated for so long led to some other issues, but I still want to dance and do ballet. Can I still learn? Should I even try? I have to use crutches most days, but not all! And I really really want to learn before my issues get so bad I can't.

You could do anything if you put your heart in it! Do not go to any stories or excuses because you will always find one even hundred reasons not to do it!! I started ballet at 53 and ongoing for over 5 years, I can manage so many challenges and techniques just like any young dancers. I am now working on double pirouette! I feel amazing also very proud of myself when I tell people that I’m doing ballet 🩰

The rant brought me to tears almost… as an amateur dancer all my life and picked up pointe work after kids, the “all, just have fun” and the feeling that the teacher just wants to be “nice” are very hurtful in many ways. I don’t know if that will ever change but I am glad you are talking about it. Thank you.

Thanks for doing this video. I really want to begin ballet but I am 55 and not limber at all. It is challenging to even consider. Thanks for the encouragement!

I'm happy you did a video about this! I actually really loved the show in a heart-aching way. But I'd like to ask your opinion on some things I found very off. The way the old man is right away told to position himself without regards for natural turnouts and all that, it seemed to me to reinforce the mentality that to do ballet as an adult you need to force yourself into extreme flexibility in a dangerous way.

Hi! I am also not a fan of making it seem like ballet is all about forcing yourself to deal with pain. I think it was done to dramatize how "intense" ballet is. You made a great point about that unhealthy mentality of “doing anything to be good”, I'm not a fan of seeing ballet being depicted like this and I think it sets a dangerous example.
