We ran a Bless team through our first run of Innsmouth. Our Sister Mary player was playing the Holy Spear with Enchant Weapon and was absolutely tearing through things. I was playing a very similar Father Mateo (Blessing of Isis) and whilst I think it was a gimmick, it did actually work well. We kinda crushed the campaign. I was playing Ward of Radiance and I don't think it ever whiffed. When you have Sister Mary in the team and ways to keep the blesses in the bag the odds on it are really good. I was running Sacred Covenant on Father Mateo rather than Ancient Covenant mainly because I really wanted to play hard into Isis and Ancient Covenant is sort of anti-synergistic with it. I was also running Olive McBride (Nkosi wasn't released at the time) to just hard dig for bless tokens. If you hit a Bless with Olive, you guarantee Blessing of Isis if you have Favor of the Sun out, and the other token that Olive pulls is irrelevant as Father Mateo's Elder Sign is an autosuccess (unless you somehow have two autofails in the bag and pull them both with Olive!). Beloved was a pretty incredible skill card for Father Mateo as it's just an autosucceed if you have Favor of the Sun (and it even puts the Bless back in the bag. I was also running Watchful Peace so that I could empty the bless tokens sealed on Sister Mary's Holy Spear to minimise the number of times she had to use the +2/+1 action. Staying at high Bless count was trivial and we were often at 10 bless tokens in the bag anyway so there was never really a need to release the ones on the spear with the basic attack.

Patrice is the best Bless character imho. I'm using her with Keep Faith to make sure my Chaos Bag is full of Bless tokens.

I think viewing them within the context of an optimal 2 man team is fair. I mean if you rank Rex as S tier, he isn't gonna do well if he isn't paired with someone who can handle creatures. So I think a 2 player team balanced around Bless is fine, because you would always assume a 2nd player who complements you.
