Thank you! I’m new to working on my own bike and had now idea how to thread the derailleur after my chain broke. I especially appreciated how you kept the camera on what you just did for a few seconds after explaining… that definitely helped me see what you were doing.

Thank goodness for this video. As a kid I knew what to do. As an adult, I don't remember half the works of this bike

After watching several videos and still being confused this video was articulate enough with setting the gears and having a concise clear view/angle of the routing process! You sir are a national treasure 🍻

Wow thanks for this Video! Simple and Straitforward. ALL ot the OTHER bicycle repair video producers need to take a lesson from this one. One of the first videos I saw was 15 minutes long and focused on how NOT to do this the correct way. I wasted 12 minutes watching that one, until I thankfully found this video. A+Plus/Subscribed and Saved. The other guy got in a lot of face time and commentary without saying anything of VALUE!

Really having a hard time doing this upside down. All these how to videos are doing them with bike maintenance holders. Most people I feel don't have them. And are doing it with their bike upside down. Smh

You can build a stand with 12 inch piece of 4×4 and two 12 inch pieces of 1x2 inch wood. Screwed or nailed together, for balance. But I had a Trike. With my bike, I tie off the handlebars and seat post for a 4 point 'mooring' system...it works OK for both Trike and Bike.

if anyone has a mountain bike and has the problem at 1:58k with their issue being the chains are at the same side of the left derailer, push them together and squeeze them through the entry to to other side of the derailer, i fixed my issue like that.

I sometimes take off the chain to wash/degrease it then forget about that metal tab mentioned @ 1:00 and have to open and re-route chain again haha the bike would work but the drivetrain feels less smooth and best do it again/right lest risk wearing out parts faster me thinks?

This seems like a good video, but since I don't have a stand, my bike is upside down...which is super confusing when yours is right side up. I'm having to watch multiple videos to make sure I thread this thing correctly.
@MadeGoodFilms

Hi PhoenixB4U. My advice is prop your bike up somewhere sturdy, or even hang the nose of the saddle of something, and work on it the right way around. Flipping your bike upside down dirties the saddle, scuffs the handlebar controls, and makes the job difficult to complete. Good luck!

Today I took off my chain to replace it with a new one, and I got all mixed up. From the first few moments of your video, I was really hoping that your video would be helpful. However, it's too bad that there were several big ads for your other videos and playlists to watch, which covered 2/3 of the (phone) screen -- especially where you're working. I was really disappointed to not be able to see the chain and derailleur properly because you look like you know were doing and had a good way of showing it. Maybe next time...

That's a shame, sorry about that. If you would like to watch the video without the playlist suggestions, you can either watch it full screen, or click watch it here - kzitem.info/news/bejne/w499qaSag6Gjh2k. The suggested videos are genuinely meant to be helpful, as often you will have to follow more that one of our videos to get the job done. I'm sorry they caused an inconvenience for you this time.

My bike is so fucked that rear derailer the first one he put it through. There’s a metal piece stopping it from doing so why is it there?
