You forgot to go through the guide before you went into the tension disk the first time. There should be 3 threads in that horizontal thread guide. Your tension won't sew well because you threaded it wrong.

We buy a home to live, for Life to happen, and it seems to me that you both LOVE the quilting and YouTubing life! Yvonne, you are adorable and so lively, you need to be on camera more and the Quiltanimo Bay room would be a great room for you to join in. We love seeing you. I still go watch the one with you running up with that red fabric, it cracks me up. Anything that brings joy and life to a home... Do it!

I work/sew/create in my dinning room. The lighting is was it is. It could be better. At night I have to turn my living room light on just to get proper lighting so I can sew/work/create. I need a new room like the one you showed in the video so I'm no crowding the dinning room and so I can have good lighting. I live in a small house so and I don't plan on moving out just yet. So when I see a fellow quilter who needs a room like that and he has it, I say, MOVE HIM IN! Make Quilting Marines Room Great Again. #MQMRGA

I've always brought my thread thru 3 times near the tension wheel. first down from the top and inside that bar - then around the tension knob, the back up thru that bar - and once more back down thru the same bar. I think that's what my directions show me to do. am I goofed up? I've never had an issue. I do only go thru 2 of the holes at the top. I think I tried 3 once, but 2 works better.

I have (and love) this machine but have a terrible time putting binding on quilts. I use the walking foot and have tried the pressure up, down and in the middle and it's no better. It's like the binding (not bias) is stretching and the feed dogs aren't keeping everything moving at the same pace. Have you figured out how to make it work? I might try using a regular foot but have always used a walking foot on other machines. P.S. Hoorah! My late husband was a 25 year Navy man. Thank you for your service.

Fat Quarter Shop just posted a Quilt Along. New pattern each month, and this month's pattern has the fabric requirements in the top corner i card circle of the video. I totally think you should do it, you can show how you use fabrics from your stash with a background fabric of white, (or gray or black) and how you learn new skills and techniques from the quilt along. There are many free quilt alongs out there on blogs and video. It's a fabulous way to learn and improve your skill. And, you can use that fabric stash!!!

I think you may have missed one step. Looking at my threading guide that came with the machine it appears the thread should go through the large thread guide just before it goes through the tension adjuster. The illustration shows the thread passing through that large guide three times, once coming down through it before it goes through the tension adjuster (with the spring) and a hook. From the hook it goes up through the large guide a second time to get to the take-up lever and through the hole in the take up lever. From there it goes back down through the same guide for the third time.

I have had this machine for 12 years. Just a heads up on threading the needle. Before you push the white thing straight down, bring the thread towards you and it will wrap around that little red nub underneath and then slowly lower the white thing straight down while holding the thread around that nub and then turn it so that the metal gizmo (technical term) is against the eye of the needle and just place the thread across in the middle of the metal thingee and slowly move the white thing again and the needle threads, You are fiddling too much and forgot that step. It takes practice to thread the needle. Make sure your presser foot in down when threading the needle too.

Mark, you have a great stash. Bigger than mine. I would suggest though that you take all of those fabrics out and match up ones that go together. It's much easier to utilize your stash when it's "coordinated" in the drawers. Suddenly you will see quilts that can be made with the fabrics you have, whereas when they are in different drawers and colors all mixed up it's harder to imagine. Second, you don't need bolts. I don't buy bolts, no one buys bolts. Well, maybe someone who is selling the same quilt over an over on Etsy. It looks like you have far more than a yard of many of those fabrics in your stash, which is perfect. I typically buy 1 yard each of 5 fabrics depending on the quilt pattern. Most quilters do NOT buy backing until the quilt is finished, and you can measure the finished size.

Don't know where to begin...so will do one comment here....just laughing at your coke stash....I drink coke, too. Well, that was not the comment I wanted to make...at Good Will, another thing to buy is men's shirts. Just regular shirts. Like you, I go for the color that is on sale, and buy only sizes Large and above. Every now and then I will buy one that is not on sale if it is a great color that I don't find often. Look for ones that are not very worn. I have a quilt that was on our bed for years that the top was made entirely of shirts from Good Will....it is still good...just decided to put a regular blanket on. And my oldest daughter has one made from Good Will shirts and it has been all over the country with her....she always has it out and it is used all the time. Starting to be a bit battered, but hey, I made it for her when she was in high school and she is approaching mid 30's in age...

That's the thing about Goodwill and other thrift stores. You just have to go OFTEN, because sometimes it can be hit-or-miss, depending on who else was shopping before you got there. The more often you go, the more likely you will find the good stuff. Cheers! PS: You do not need to buy entire BOLTS of fabric. Go for variety instead of a large amount. Buying Fat Quarters is a good way to add variety to your stash. If you buy too much of one fabric, you may get really tired of it before the entire bolt is gone! So unless it is something like muslin or backing, don't go for the whole bolts. Also -- VIVA COCA-COLA! That's my beverage of choice also.
