Loved travelling through Arizona as a kid with my parents in the 70's. I'm glad someone has captured the beauty of the area in a model railroad. So much has changed over there since I last was through there in 1979.

Hi. Yes it has. Not the Grand Canyon Village. It’s timeless. But Williams has grown into a tourist destination. Well it was in the early days but then it all but died. And now it’s renewed 🤓

Agreed! Oh and HI AGAIN!! Looking forward to working on the big canyon project. As soon as we turn about 30 todo projects into todone projects. Like fixing the apartment that tenants trashed. And mowing the lawn. And cleaning and organizing the garage. Oh and two shows a week. We need to get cloned.

I don't know about now with the Grand Canyon Railroad, but when the Santa Fe operated the line, all trains backed into the station at Grand Canyon. The railroad accesses the Village from the southwest and makes a rather large curve to approach the station but continues on the southwestern leg of the wye with the loco. When the train clears the turnout, it backs up through the southeastern leg of the wye to the station. When leaving the station, the rain follows the north leg of the wye and the curve to the left to return to Williams. I think the switches were sprung similarly to the outer end of the Nevada Northern close to the mine so they would not have to be thrown. It makes a lot of operational sense.

Sometime, something… Auto correct is not my friend. I will have to share this episode with my wife. We have been planning on going to the South Rim for years. Now’s the time. Have seen Polo Duro Canyon (and biscuits and gravy) (Google it and maybe you will chuckle).. See you in the Garage on Tuesday!

I've seen a couple of videos that the Grand Canyon Railway got a visit from a former Santa Fe engine, 4-8-4 #3751, I'm hoping that the recently restored Santa Fe 4-8-4 #2926 will run on it one day, also I came up with a description for my railroad as a freight hauling railroad that runs an excursion train program

Hi Ronnie. Working on it on and off all the time! Outside not too much. Inside got a bit outa control. So I’ve been working on the big canyon and trestle. And wiring. I hate/love wiring. Rather work on stuff at the bench. Anyway too hot now for outdoor. But I need to get back in replacing the switches and changing the track plan at the mine and stuff. But first cleaning up my mess inside.
