I guess I should go watch this netflix deal as well. It would also be fair to explain that the type of radiation makes a huge impact on what kind of damage could be done to a person's body. I hope to see more discussions like this to inform people about nuclear energy and how it is safer than other sources of energy. As an engineer I love hearing the lessons learned portion of what was gained and how it was implemented into new systems to correct feedback that caused the issues we identified as the root problem. Unfortunately the amount of fear, misunderstanding, and willful ignorance keeps holding us back as a nation on a safe way to provide power to an ever growing demand.

Galen Winsor was an American chemist and nuclear plant safety manager who played a pivotal role in the early years of the American nuclear industry, particularly during the 1940s when regulations regarding radioactive materials were.
