Been a mountain biker since 91, and I always looked up to Rob and Jason McRoy after the Bike95 event, and the Dirt video. Punks of the era and still to this day my faves, along with Palmer and Peaty.. oh, and No Wage Page. Much love from a 50 year old ex bmx racer.

Rob Warner is Downhill Mountain Biking. I’ve not watched a single WC race since he and Redbull departed, and this is coming from someone who use to frequent DH WC races. It died the day Rob Warner left.

Rob fell into the hole that a lot of athletes do. Had enough of it and hated it. Then rediscover it at a new level with no pressure of competition and find the joy again. Good luck Rob, you are still the voice of mountain bike.

I've been riding mountain bikes for 30 years now. I can remember setting my alarm clock at 5 am on the weekends here in canada to watch the dh races on freecaster. I've been hooked on the live feeds ever since and a big part of that was robs commentary. Your quick wit and one liners had me laughing the whole time. We all miss robs voice at every race, just not quite the same without him. 👏🤘

Thanks Rob; genuinely, thanks😊 Your rediscovery of riding as a joy and a place of personal achievement by means of an e-bike chimes with me. Having thought I’d had my last ride, fat and arthritic, when I retired (my first ride in the woods was about 1961), my wife bought me an eeb and now I’m riding better than ever with my kids (in their 30’s) and keeping up 🎉 I’ll be there when Revs opens next month: if anybody had suggested that 10 years ago, I’d have had a coronary just laughing out loud 🤣

been inspired by Rob since back in the 90s and really miss him on the world cup commentary. I truly believe that Rob was one of, if not, the most significant influence on E-MTBing. For years i and most others had looked down on E-Bikes as cheating and not real MTBs and then Rob came along on a YT video and he just made it make sense. I love my Ebike and my normal MTB and i will be eternally grateful to Rob for helping me see the light. Cheers Rob

the TV went in 99 and Sprung started World Cup coverage the same year, then followed by Earthed we did the best to cover racing and fill that void., obvs nothing like TV but coverage but we kept the vibe going. Rob might not know but I recommended him to Ray at Freecatser for the commentary job. Rob was always destined to be the voice of MTB and no one can take that away now.

when we lived and breathed mtb in the 90s, we would cheer when RW dropped out of the gates. He only raced for the fun. He was us, he was the only one we related to. We all had one mtb to cycle to the trails, one bike to ride and race XC to DH and ride home again.

Rob to me you will always be mountain biking. We were the school outcasts when you were riding in 96 and watching it all and waiting for each month of MBUK. Several goes round of falling back in love with biking but yes the ebike has made it for me this time. Gay as you like but I now like the ups as much as the downs. Take it easy bud keep going. Look at the time 😮
