8:04 Item you said was a pin cushion is made from a can (usually a soda can). It is cut in strips & bent/curled (sort of a quilling technique) to form the chair.

The sm napkins are called Bridge napkins. Ladies used them for their bridge game day with the ladies and the napkins were used like China to match the season. BRIDGE WAS A CARD GAME BACK IN THE DAY. they are cute to use atop a stack of books or spilling fr a cup

Hi Julie….that mesh basket with the red handles is for gathering eggs. The small Oster jar with the lid is for an Oster blender. It’s placed directly on the blender for chopping/blending small items.

I love the chair my dad usto make them. I loved watching him cut the cans and curl and shape them into small furniture . I still have a tiny one , and a regular size he made into a pin cushion

The scissors are bandage scissors. Nurses use them to cut off bandages. The angle helps them get under the bandage to cut. :)

Love your enthusiasm! The single little blue floral tea cup you got is from a pattern sold as shopping rewards at grocery chains like Kroger in the early 90s. Both my mother and mother-in-law had collected the entire set- and they collected at 2 different chains and states! Super popular. I loved it so much that I kept them after they passed. ❤️ I think the scalloped wire basket is a boiling basket.

JULIE!!! Please tell me you purchased the cloche covered clock! Cloches are so expensive, so when there is one covering an old clock I grab it and add a glass knob. Then I donate the clock back. 😊 😊😊

Our bins are different. Everything is by the pound, except pillows and lighting. And if you find, something really heavy, they usually will give you a good price in it.

My mom had a wire basket like the one you showed with handles. She used it in a larger pot to fry French fries. The oil was in the larger pot. When the fries were done she would pull the handle basket out and wouldn’t have to deal with dipping them out of the grease.

I was thinking the wire basket with handles could be used to drain a head of lettuce --sort of like a salad spinner... Also could be used as a container when gathering eggs... I like the idea of using it in a deep fat fryer, too... All in all a pretty handy and diverse little basket!

Hi Julie ! FEEL BETTER ☹️ Hubby and I are just getting over CoV19… ugh !!! He went to his 55 year Class Reunion with ALL THOSE OLD PEOPLE…and brought it home! I’m trying to get through multiple “Eye Surgeries”… so the coughing has been hard on recovery , not to mention important appts for recovery. GREAT HAUL !!!!

we used to use the iron basket at the campsite to wash lettuce. it is foldable (hence the camping site) and you can twirl the washed lettuce with your arms. then the water splashes flew in all directions. you can also fold the handles all the way down and then you can put the basket on the handles

Hi Julie love your program. The little pink squares are used for demitasse coffee or tea or pocket squares whatever you want but they’re originally I believe that that size was for demitasse coffee 😊

I love all the emboridered linens. They look old like 20s to 40s. I use small ones to either add collar points or pockets when I use mens shirts or pillow cases to make little girl dresses. Now that I grow my own lavender I use some to put lavendar in. Larger white hankies I have made angels from them. Stuff and tie head.Glue lace bow for wings. Glue bits of lace doiles at bottom corners. You tie knots at side points to make hands.

Another interesting haul at your bins! I believe both of the pottery pieces were student-made with the blue pinch pot vessel most likely being made by an elementary student while the thumbprint piece definitely made by someone younger...take a closer look where the base meets the side/wall for a flaw I saw on camera. The wire basket is similar to one my mother used when canning tomatoes. She would fill the basket and dip it in a boiling pot of water for a few minutes to split the skin. It was easy to lift out all at once to a sink of cold water so we could remove it. Since I had a smaller hand, my job was to pack the tomatoes in the jar. A fond memory.

I absolutely LOVE watching your KZitem DIY Channel. You definitely work extremely hard finding your treasures. Your time shopping/traveling, cleaning up your treasures and posting them online. I found TWO small glass platter style trays with the Lords Last Supper. I looked them up and one is the color of Ice Blue and the other is an Amber Brown. So they are gonna make two great Christmas gifts for my Mom and my Sweeties Mom. These TWO ladies are very driven with their strong Faith ❤

Awesome haul!!…Makes me want to go to the Goodwill bins in my area! Also….the German teacups are vintage! I have the entire set of dinnerware!…A replacement teacup cost me $15 when one got broke when I moved so they do have some value!

Your Goodwill bins must price differently than in Wisconsin. I went to my first one a month ago and they had me wheel my cart onto a scale for hard goods. I did not have that much and the total was. $75.00 I was shocked

The Oster jar goes with an Oster blender. I have the jar and the blender which I purchased in 1970. Blender still works! which I have the jar in the blender

The flower wire item usually has a plate in it and you then hang it on the wall. I have a million I’ve bought to put chalkboard in it instead of the plates. But, I’ve not gotten around to it yet. Great Video. Thanks!

The basket with handles I knew in the late 70s, early 80s as a rinsing basket for veggies, lettuce then you fold the handles to stand and let it drain. I have a folding egg basket a lot older like 40s but its not made the same and doesnt have handles that stand.

Yep! Those enamelware pieces were a favorite of mine, too! I especially loved the wide-mouth fruit jar funnel for filling canning jars... I've seen many of them over the years, but not exactly that shape --it was a very interesting one. Loved it!

Take care of yourself and be well! The yellow lidded glass jar is actually part of an electric blender w attachments and the white Pyrex "pitcher" a stove top percolator. Sometimes this feels like trivia time 😀

That pot looks to me to be a coil pot, its made by rolling out long sausage coils of clay, then to join them together you lay one on top of the other and blend the clay together, the bottom half looks like its been blended using a tool, which you would scrape the clay to make it smooth, the top is just coils joined by pulling the clay together using just your fingers. x x
