The key to thrift shops in the US is the neighborhood they are in and if in a major city. I live in Hawaii in a fairly rich neighborhood and come across Maje, BAASH, Ted Baker, and Karen Millen etc. That's why I enjoy watching your channel. Rich people seem to travel and relocate quite a bit. Finally consider consignment shops such as Crossroads, Buffalo Exchange, and even Platos. When they have sales you can get a great deal.

Really enjoyed Plato’s closet. We’re traveling to New York in the summer, and look forwards to applying what we’ve learnt. The rules aren’t that dis-similar to the uk in theory, but like most people you get stuck in the excitement over logic mindset. Thank you for watching!

I'm new to your channel and I just wanted to say well done and thank you for the entertaining and educational information. I have some disabilities which make regular working and manual labour off limits in recent years. I've also recently been inspired by a Collector uncle and all the under sold stock at local charity shops to see if I can find a way to capitalise on re-selling goods, around my health issues. I'm brand new to the field and have much to learn, your content is absolute gold.

You can definitely find luxury items in American thrift stores, but because we have so many resellers you have to catch it as soon as the new racks roll out of the back, or you’ll never find anything. Where I live I find luxury items regularly, but I have to hit dozens of thrift stores in order to do that. Thrift store prices in this country are all over the place. Last time I went sourcing one thrift store had all Tommy Bahama $19.99 and another thrift store had a low end polo for $29.99.

It’s a full time job just doing the goodwills in America. It’s so super interesting. We’re in New York in the summer, that should be a different experience altogether

@@theluxurypickers yikes. I’ve seen videos of people sourcing in NY. The thrift stores they went to were insanely expensive.

Great video! And the first watcher! Woohoo! As for the question at the end - either smash out sudden death pop up with no prep but just for an hour - don't waste your day! Or just wait til you get back and do 3 second sudden death 😂 Really enjoyed this guys thanks!

Carhartt is insanely common in my area. I don’t pick it up unless it’s something different.

@@theluxurypickers I sold a vintage southwestern Aztec print carhartt jacket for $250. I’ve found several blanket lined jackets, but not carhartt.
