The frame generation is a bit bugged, I had to turn it off / on a few times after cutscenes because it gets disabled. The beta can be downloaded from Steam store.steampowered.com/app/2429640/THRONE_AND_LIBERTY/ 1:00 : Settings 1:20 : 4K DLSS 3 Epic Settings

hi, nice video as always, I have a question, I have the same processor, GPU and monitor as you, what do you think of the news about the 13900k? I've never had any problems but listening to the news I decided to set the Intel limits in the BIOS following JayzTwoCents' instructions, what do you think and have you ever thought about changing the processor?

Hey. I haven't had any issues, 0 degradation - same voltage requirements as day one under any condition, be it 2042's absurd CPU usage or The Last of US building shaders 250+ watt usage. I'm using the lowest possible stable voltage I've found for this chip for 5.8Ghz all core and left it at that. Also using an old BIOS / microcode / intel ME from late 2023 I think. Maybe they broke something with the BIOS updates and it started degrading the chips? Or maybe the chips themselves were faulty to begin with. No idea, haven't looked much into it. Intel motherboard vendors love to put crazy voltages into people's chips by default. High voltage + high temps + high watts = very easy to degrade a chip. I have none of those. Lowest voltage, very low temps and watts are low because of the low voltage + LLC6 which further reduces the voltage under load (Load Line Calibration 6 - ASUS, it's the opposite on MSI I believe, so 2 or whatever) I'll be swapping to Intel's new CPUs when they come out so these things don't matter to me. It is however terrible and those who upgrade every 2-4 generations (which is the best thing to do anyway) that's really a bad look on Intel. If you don't care about the E cores and just game, I'd suggest RMAing your chip (if faulty) and don't open it, sell it for as much as possible and swap to 7800X3D. A friend of mine with a 14900K did just that.

@@FrozburnYT let's say that my condition is similar to yours, so I wouldn't want to change anything, I even thought about upgrading only the GPU in the future, what do you think?

@@SimonWolf185 Up to you. If you've had it for a year and there's no issue, your chip should be fine long term.

I have an 4090 also but from my experience with Frame generation in other games like The Finals ( ue5 engine ) I didn't like it....the fps was high but my brain could notice that sonething is unnatural ( the fake frames ) I am curious how FG it's in an mmorpg compared to an FPS game. What do you think ?

I never use Frame Gen in FPS games, it's not meant for there. I do use it in singleplayer games, tho. It's fine in MMOs, it's not like you're aiming at anything there (like headshots) or tracking fast moving targets like Tracer in Overwatch.

What you get without DLSS & FG ?! 40-50's ?

How is your cpu so cool. I have same card and cpu and I got to 70 temp on cpu on epic and confused

Overkill cooling with the MO-RA3 420. The CPU watt usage isn't high in this video so that helps as well.

I have really good cooler. I don’t get how you gpu to work way more than your cpu. Could you help me?

the game is kinda boring and i dont think its that demanding either.

Will give it another try when it comes out, for now I'm done. It is quite demanding in 4K with epic settings. This is just DLSS + Frame Generation doing all the work, including the CPU speed & the high OC on the RAM boosting the FPS further because the game becomes CPU bound with DLSS + FG. On native it runs terrible unless you lower the settings. However, I'd say there isn't much point in using native, as even in native the game looks blurry. You might as well just use DLSS at that point and also FG because it's an MMO - aiming doesn't matter here and it doesn't even feel bad anyway.
