@@drdramatik Ur welcome! In the novels, Ardal was one of the Niffigardian aristocrats who seek to dethrone the White Flame and he mystically died of "sickness" by the end of the war. What we saw in Thronebreacker is kind of a complement to his story.

Haven't played thronebreaker yet, but this theme is getting me so hyped for the rest of the Witcher show. I can already picture the best moments from the books playing with this theme.

Season 1 had a bit of a mixed start off. They didn't set Vilgefortz and Cahir up very well at all, Brokilon and by extension, Ciri and Geralts' relationship were a complete fail, they did Foltest COMPLETELY dirty (Foltest was supposed to be charming, young and a military genius), and Nilfgaard was seen as this backwater kingdom before Fringilla which is completely false since Nilfgaard is an empire not some fringe nation that equips their soldiers with ballsack armor but there are some things they got right. The main cast was perfect (Henry Cavill as Geralt was the absolute best decision and there's talks of Mark Hamill playing Vesemir), the short story on the law of surprise was done pretty well and accurate, Dandelion was a major plus, and they didn't adapt a consistent book much rather a book that's a collection of short stories that tie in in some small way to each other to develop the main characters, namely Geralt and Yennefer. They also got a new costume designer so hopefully that means Nilfgaard will look like the Nilfgaard we know and love from the games. Also I do think in the way that the next book was written it'll have less blunders. Tl;dr: this season was meh but the next one should be better.
@jackaloni3029

@Johnny Silverhand you pretty much nailed my thoughts on season 1. The next season should be all about establishing the core relationships, being Ciri and the Witchers as well as Ciri and Yennefer. Despite me feeling really impatient for the next season, I want them to take as much time as they need to adapt Sapkowski’s masterpiece to give it the quality it deserves.
@lisaanimi

@@MrKILLINOOBZ But Dandelion/Jaskier was absolutely perfect :) Personally I'd say it's a bit better than people say. Problem is that witcher fans are "used" to great content. Books are 10/10, the games are 10/10. Then the show is "just" 8/10. It's still really good but after all the fans have witnessed we are kinda spoiled :D
@mazanakaUA

@@lisaanimi No. The show is not good overall. Just some parts of it, and those aren't many. (Dandelion, Geralt in a few scenes) Just as games got the books messages, mood and style mostly right, the show did the same -- mostly wrong. And it's supposed to be *based on the books*
@babyjiren9676

@@mazanakaUA Eh, it’s fine. It’s not the games, and it’s not meant to be. The SJW aspects are there but honestly not as blatant as I feared. I just look at the show as its own continuity and then it’s not that bad. Definitely amongst the better things to come out of Netflix. I feel like (as usual) people have these extraordinarily, almost insufferably strong opinions and expectations and when even a single one is not met they go on a tirade.
