I really enjoyed this one. Took me back to the days I used to travel to GPs across Europe on a sponsorship. If you do another one, I'd like to see you cover the period immediately after Misstep was banned, I remember everyone's testing for GP Amsterdam got ruined and that was also the first tournament with Scavenging Ooze legal. Wild times.

Hey Bosh, I meant to ask what CPU you have in this computer. If it's a higher end Intel 13th or 14th generation CPU you might want to look into replacing it. Those chips have been dying in droves and the crashes might not necessarily be your fault. It might not even be the way your system is configured. It could be worth looking into the Intel baseline profile and microcode update they release recently.

Great idea. Lovely to revisit some classic magic. Such nostalgia. Maybe not the channel for it, but could be cool to revisit some busted combo decks throughout the ages of magic. Or even some old school decks VS new school decks to compare the power creep and see if some of those old decks can stand up to modern magic…

GP Columbus 2010, such a great event... I watched Tomoharu Saito shamelessly stall out a draw vs. eventual top 8er (and fellow UMN grad) Jason Ford directly in front of a judge. I think I finished 121st, but it was my first ever day 2 at a Magic event.

Lots of Tom Martell lists, I see! GP Indy 2012 was a great event as well, it was held in the "basement" of Lucas Oil Stadium where the Colts play. I was wearing Zubaz all weekend and finished 81st, just barely missing out of moneying by losing in the last round to fellow Minnesotan Ryan Overturf.

Great video very nostalgic!! Takes me back to that era. On that part where he mulled to 5 and stifled you for the win, i get that you wanted a basic plains in play, but you could have done that later, you already lose to daze and pierce when you're trying to resolve perish or vindicate, doesn't fetching turn on stifle as a losecon? I'm thinking just play a dual, vindicate a delver, save perish for if he drops a goose, if he wastes you you're still alive, but on your critical 3rd land drop, seems putting any spell on the stack was the most important...ie we took a risk with almost no upside... other than in the rare event that he draws stifle exactly next turn, but even then we've still got 3 lands in play
@Jordan-dg8tp

You were giving your opponent grief ( no pun intended ) about using a Modern Masters tarmogoyf.. But at 10:40, you mulliganed and bottomed your SIXTH card, not your SEVENTH. Back in those days, we didnt have a fancy London mulligan! You drew 6 cards and hoped they were better than your seven. Tsk tsk Mr. Bosh. I won't be smoking my pack with this kind of detail gone awry 😔

at 36:10, Could you return the battleskull, and activate stoneforge mystic to replay it, and then equip the sword of FF? If there is a stifle you have the pierce. The germ is now a 6/6, If they triple attack, you lifelink to 11 and take 10, while eating a gofy? If they have a bolt, your dead anyway (bolt SFM, and triple attack). Is there something else your playing around that makes this not a line?
@rekenner

That line does still lose to Stifle on the pick up trigger, but his line was still cold to Stifle.
@antmansenpai

@@rekenner When the pick up abillity is activated, Bosh has all 5 mana untapped, (used the floating 3). If this is stiffle'd, Spell pierce counters for 1 mana, 2 mana to activatge stoneforge, 2 mana to reequip sword of FF. Should be safe from Stiffle, they only have the volcanic untapped and their hand is 1 card

I dont understand the need to fetch at 42:50. You have multiple lands in hand and multiple 3's. The only reason not to play the tundra there would be playing around wasteland, but taking the safe turn now -> wasteland -> have another turn with three mana to cast a 3-drop sounds much better to me than risking the whole game on the pretty telegraphed stifle. Was there another reason to not just play tundra -> lingering souls that I am missing?
