Throughout evolution, individuals were wired to identifying and solving problems related to survival-such as finding food, avoiding danger, and securing shelter for survival.
Over time, this has led to the development of brains that are inherently geared towards identifying and addressing problems.
The brain has specific neural networks dedicated to problem-solving. When faced with challenges, this part of the brain becomes highly active as individuals engage in cognitive processes to analySe the situation and generate possible solutions.
If you let your thoughts control you they will take you down a very dark and deep whole going over-and-over your problems and trying to find potential ‘solutions’.
But guess what? This vicious cycle is NOT solving any problems!!!
But it can become very addictive..
The faster you identify this and shift gears the easier it will be.
Here are two of my main tips:
1. Vent - call a friend you trust as complain for as long as you need, let it all out until you feel heard and a little lighter. As women we are like a bucket filling up, filling up until it’s now overflowing and we need to let it out
2. Change your physical state - as much as our thought can influence our body and send us into an anxiety spiral, our body can influence our feelings and thoughts. Take yourself our for a walk, swim, cold shower, somatic exercise or Breathwork. You will fill an instant shift to a more positive state.
Working with a coach can help you learn about the tools the work best for you, how to implement them and have access to shifting your reality at all times.
