Just remember to center at top speed. Use your body weight and brace your arms well and lean into the mound. You don’t need to have a lot of muscle to center.

Thanks for the throwing video! It would be great if the video included the trimming, which is challenging on a big platter, as well as the finished platter.

@@duaneandmarymartin5375 it is slowly drying right now, but as soon as it is ready to trim I will post a video. There are so many points along the way for something to go sideways, fingers crossed it gets across the finish line.

Tell me about it. Not sure how you throw, but if you tend to throw with the spiral (from wedging) perpendicular to the wheel, try placing your clay on the wheel head with the spiral running parallel to the wheel head. That “usually” stops s cracks in their tracks before they even get a chance to ruin your piece.
