"Despite US blocking China from space collaboration, they were able to land a rover on dark side of the moon on the first try - something US failed at repeatedly." Um, no. Nor have we placed the necessary communication relays in an Earth-Moon L2 'halo' orbit needed to support such a thing, as China necessarily had to do first. Nor has the US tried to place a remotely controlled rover on the *near* side of the Moon, either (there was a proposal called 'Prospector,' intended to succeed Surveyor, that never got beyond the planning stage). Highly doubt this... Contrary to popular belief, when it comes to programming and enigeering software, most low level stuff used in China is in english... They would not re-invent their own OS or language -- they would re-purpose existing Assembly, Linux, C, C++, Rust or whatever (all with english verbs and nouns) ... The interfaces to high level software may have Chinese language but would very likely also include English and other languages as an option. If they are serious about collaboration, they will likely be using English because their astronauts probably already know English while very few non-chinese engineers would be able to speak mission critical mandarin. I've been in China ten years and my Mandarin, while good, is probably not good enough to have heavy space engineering discussions -- the kind that would be necessary when in life or death space.

Exciting to see China working in Space, I find it odd that the ISS does not allow Chinese astronauts aboard, the three superpowers (six once includes the EU, India, and Brazil) should discuss collaboration on long term space presence if we wish to explore and quite possibly terraform Mars one day. However, I feel the world is a long way off from that need for living space. The best benefit from space research will be the coming building of self sustaining, solar powered underwater habitats as technology and energy management evolves. The experience of Astronauts, or simply human civilian Space experience will help those with diving skills needed to build underwater cities, and that day will come.
