That will make for some excellent after dinner talks, nobody is a real skiier until they have at least 7 screws in there leg somewhere lol. On a serious note, hope everything goes well Alex and your fit and well for next season.

It put a dampener on some of the things i had planned for the spring/summer. Might need to invest in a knee brace for next winter.

Hi Alex, it's great to see you up and about again after such a bad injury! I've just recently had tibial plateau fracture surgery and also have 7 screws and a plate... I'm currently 6 weeks into my 8 week non weight bearing phase. I was just wondering how long it took you to start walking properly without crutches and how long was it before you could go skiing again? Hoping to get back on the slopes in Jan/Feb 2023!

My recovery was also tied to COVID lockdown so I probably spent more time on my back than i should have. If i was injured at the start of March I think i went skiing in TIgnes the following September for a very tentative ski in bad visibility. When i got back to the car i remember Macron announced another lock down of ski resorts.

Great vlog as ever Alex, in answer to your last comments, yes we would be interested in seeing the impact of Coronavirus on Courchevel

Hi Alex I have a similar x ray, same sort of screws and plates, from Verbier some years ago. If you know a friendly physio I would give her a ring, the excersises weren't complicated but were important. I was sent to Albertville hospital couple of years ago for a scan, they were as you say very professional and very caring. We hope to make it out next year and maybe catch you in the Boulotte as I did last time my phone needed repairing, thanx. Get well soon, we need summer hiking videos.

Unfortunately the Physio is already taken but she's been amazing. Just starting to bend the knee after 1 month post-op which has been "an experience". I don't know if you know but the Boulotte will not be there next season, at least not with Katie. But i can guarantee you one thing, the next time I get on skis I will make a video.

7 screws .., 7 is my favorite number. But I am not jealous. Bon rétablissement, heureux que tout se soit bien passé à Albertville.

As you said before, the binding didn't release when it should have. Also maybe a sign that the skier is getting older :-)

I think as boot support technology has improved accidents have moved further up the leg, with the knee being the next weak point. I'm sure there will be a thigh high ski boot coming soon. Then we will see hip injuries....
