It's nice to finally see a really good side by side comparison of these repellents and how they work.

Yeah and all those chemical repellents can also cause seizures, respiratory distress, and neurological damage.

Wrong, I drink DEET daily and have seen my IQ increase from 95 to 138 in the space of two weeks.

@@ThePaperCreater permethrin will increase IQ scores to a much greater degree! I used to have a IQ of 69 but after drinking permethrin it increased to 420

That's why from the listed chems it's best to use the ones that aren't going onto your skin, instead treat your outer layer of clothing. Another good idea is to use the IQ you have left and not use the chemical repellent right under your nose, so you're not breathing any of it. Lyme disease is no joke.

Would've been nice to know exactly which essential oils were used in the "natural" repellent... This way this whole video feels like an advertisement for DEET and picaridin producers. It's also worth to mention that both DEET and picaridin get into you bloodstream through your skin.

A small amount will get into the bloodstream, but then will be broken down by the liver and will exit the body in a 24 hr period. Nothing much to be worried about

Permathrine appears to be the best option either way. It's not getting applied to the skin and lasts a longer.

@@roniswtf I think that's the most dangerous because in my experience Permethrine was the least effective at preventing insect infestation and the most damaging to my neurological well-being. Of course, if you're just talking about applying it to clothing, that's another matter. It's expensive, too.

@FungusMossGnosis you're not supposed to use permethrin on your body unless prescribed by a doctor. On the bottles it has a large warning about only using it on clothes, and not breathing it in as it works as a neurotoxin for the ticks. It is definitely not good for you, but that's why you don't get it on your skin.

I have also noticed that essential oil mixtures don't really work that well. I've used ones with every single kind that they hate and it doesn't seem to phase them very much.
