This rendition of Zequinha de Abreu's' "Tico Tico no fubá” at the Gala Winners' Concert of the 2024 Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival in Vienna is brought to you by the OJPA - Alicante’s Youth Orchestra. The ensemble is conducted by Francisco Maestre. The concert took place in the @WienerKonzerthaus.
The Summa Cum Laude Festival in Vienna is Europe’s premier youth music festival for choirs, bands and orchestras. Since its beginning the festival has been under the auspices of UNESCO and the Austrian Federal President. The festival is held annually in July in the most important concert halls of Vienna, the Golden Hall of the Musikverein and the Great Hall of the Konzerthaus, it offers an international environment where around two thousand young musicians enjoy musical and intercultural exchanges. Ensembles may participate either in the Competition or in the Celebration (non-competitive). International and renowned professionals conductors and musicians form the jury in the competition and teach our Academy program at the University of Music and Performing Arts.
Other concerts and events will be held in such famous venues as the ORF RadioKulturhaus (National Broadcast), the MuTh (home of the Wiener Sängerknaben), Casino Zögernitz (House of Strauss), and the City Hall in Vienna - and many more.
The true focus of the Festival is to create an environment where young musicians from all over the world can interact on an international level and build bridges amongst themselves - bridges spanning over continents by music.
