Thank you very much Jennifer! This isn’t the best spirograph, but the steps are there. I need to make another one and switch a few things up. Thanks for reminding me. 🥰❤️🌈

I just watched the “Dye Hard” documentary and was perplexed as to why only men tie-dyers were showcased in it. They said no women artists wanted to participate. It would’ve been fun to see you in their video. It would’ve been a great exposure opportunity for you. I follow you because you are a giving person and share your creative process. ❤️🌈

I've only just started getting into tie-dying as a hobby/therapy, and I appreciate your videos. Especially because not only do you post your oopsies, but also the voice-over with you explaining what&why you are doing; most other channels that I have found just have elevator musak playing in the background with a sped-up format so, you can't really tell what is happening. I didn't know this was called 'spirograph'. But, the spiral (off center) has long been one of my favorite patterns, and what I have been doing to compensate for my learning curve mishaps is turning spirals into spirographs. So much so that it has quickly become my new favorite pattern. I am having trouble getting my colors to stay after washing and would love to correspond with you to help figure out where my deficiencies are located. However here on KZitem is the closest thing I have to a social media presence. So, I am going to go through your channel to try to find an email... please be on the lookout for a letter from some crazy dude has a tendency to seem somewhat psykospastic@ just about everything... BTDubs, I recognize that the shirt in this video didn't turn out the way you intended, but I personally think it turned out pretty damn stellar.

☺️ Thank you!! Hey there! I’d love to see what you’re up to. I have a Facebook group I’ve created to coincide with my KZitem channel. It’s a place to share and learn. I understand not being on social media but I highly recommend joining the group. It’s free and there are amazing tie dyers in there with brilliant ideas. Let me know it’s you when you share your posts. ❤️🌈 facebook.com/groups/1808680025961779/?ref=share_group_link

I like it. Bluebird is a strong color but I like it better than cerulean blue. I think is a nicer looking shade of blue. When you slurped I spit my coffee out laughing. I love your personality so that makes up for the shirt not being what you wanted. Someone will wear it. Thanks for sharing the process Steph.

So THAT is how spirographs are done?! I've been trying to figure it out and couldn't! Completely agree about blue, that stuff just goes everywhere and I call it stripper glitter as a result. It's sticky when in powder form and just an overall pain to work with. I think you're right about using a sponge brush to apply it in this case and for sure I'm going to try this - I think it's a really cool look for spirals. I wonder if other patterns couold also be done just on the edges to spice it up? Lots of potential for this, thanks!

During one of your tutorials, could you explain why you do a project right side out vs inside out (although I know you do both)? maybe do two shirts the same, but with one inside out and the other right side out so, beside pattern direction, we can see the difference!
@BelladonnaDyesCo
2 жыл бұрын
Sure. One of these days. There is zero difference other than the spiral will change directions. This was done inside out and in order to pull it off correctly it needed to remain inside out. I personally turn the. inside out so the seams are out of the way for centering. That’s all. ❤️🌈

I did this a bit different. Soda ash first. Spiral then put dye on with brush. Let sit 1/2 day or so. Unspiral. Turn inside out. Line up dye lines on inside. Redo spiral. Paint dye on with brush. Let sit 1/2 day then apply dye. Let sit 24 hrs wash out.
