Crazy how the blues are gonna miss the playoffs but they have more points than the teams fighting for an Eastern spot

I think 3 years is a realistic expectation for Chicago. Year 1 around 28th-32nd, Year 2 around 20-24th, then Year 3 they might sneak in 13th-16th. I wouldn't be surprised to see them regress in Year 4, then start becoming a perennial playoff team after that.

Philly in no man’s land is actually insane tho lmao. Full disclosure I am a Flyers fan, but the definition of no man’s land you gave was pretty much old core, no direction, then places the team that had the most goals by rookies this year, citing their 2 rookie goaltenders not being good enough lmao. If you saw Tippett, Frost, Forester, Farabee, and basically the entire defense this year you saw strides. Definitely hurts your pool when your second best prospect cries his way out of town but like damn. The guy who just did all that yapping to do absolutely nothing in the NCAA chip was really gonna make the difference for them? Seems like good old fashioned Flyers hate from an Islanders fan. No hard feelings tho it’s always Islanders hate from Flyers fans lol.

I’m a huge sens homer and as much as I want to think it’s maybe next year, in reality prolly closer to 2-3. They have a lot of good pieces and a good core but a couple of glaring holes (lack of prospects, coaching, goalies) that will take a couple of seasons to sort out with the cap restraints they have.
@King-03530
21 күн бұрын
philly is in a decent spot with their prospects but i do agree they don’t really have a direction with where they want to go. Torts is most definitely not the coach you want around for a rebuild but they have a lot of solid pieces in the next 2-3 years and it’s going to depend on what direction management wants to go
@MikeBartner
21 күн бұрын
Yup they need one or two more A-/A prospects and it's going to be tough to get if they're picking 12th-15th the next 2-3 years.

With that high picks they should steal some player, ofc needs good scouting to do that. @@MikeBartner

Why do people think Torts is not good for a rebuild? He has been phenomenal and is teaching them to play the right way and hold each other accountable. Outside of a handful of scratchings of young guys, every complaint I’ve had with him this year is him putting the team in a position to lose(throwing out a checking line in 3 on 3, having Sean Couturier play on the 4th line for 2 weeks)
@eliaminator2313

Im pretty sure the Sens were something like 22-4-1 around there anyways with above .900 goaltending which shows how rarely they got above .900 goaltending and also shows that with .900 goaltending which really isnt asking for much they can be a competitive team competiting for a wild card spot

The Penguins results next year will entirely depend on which version of the team shows up. We get more of the team that had a fire under their ass the last few weeks of the season? Easy playoffs, not even a question. We get the team that played like they didn't give a shit and went 0-36 on the PP in December? Might as well not watch a single game.

So the thing with the blues is I see the our prospects(neighbors, bolduc, snuggerud, and the three first rounders from 2023) as being 80-90% of Thomas and Kyrou ability level. This team is 2-3 years from being a contender. We just need to wait out the NTC on Krugs contract.

Get a new backup for Fleury? Fleury is likely done after this year and was just as bad as Gus. The new tandem next year will likely be Wallstedt and Gus, but it wouldn't surprise me if they traded Gus and resigned Fleury to be a mentor to Wallstedt. Their success depends on if a lot of their prospects like Ohgren, Heidt, Khusnutdinov and possibly Yurov can make a significant contribution to the team next year.

Feel like Seattle in the "next year" section is a stretch for me personally. I don't think that they have the young talent to get in over a team like a Minnesota next year or even a St. Louis.

I think it’s fair I totally agree with the idea of a stretch but we will most definitely see a drop off from one of the 8 teams in the playoffs my pick is LA of all of them and that honestly makes it possible

Potentially one of the worst seasons in Flyers history. Choked a playoff spot and now have a 0 chance at Celebrini. Lost Gauthier for 40 cents on the dollar and Hart may never play again for them. I hope Drysdale will end up a solid D man, he's still really young. How is this team going to get elite young players? They have too much above average talent to bottom out but not enough to contend and they're not a Mickov arriving away from competing for cup. They did good at the deadline but no home runs. Time will tell.

Hopefully when Oliver bonk and michkov arrive they will make a difference - and we got a solid offensive defenseman for Gaultier. Gautier doesn’t want to play for us, that’s fine. He can go to ducks and do nothing lol

Broooo flyers are 2-3y if not maybe next year, they’re a Gottdamn young team! For your goalie issue- Ersson is a Rookie l who got thrown in the deep end and leaned on so much after hart left (without looking at the stats, omw to the Gottdamn laundromat and pulled the cart over for this) I think was on par w hart, and outperforming at times. Fedetov is a huge ?, but you can’t judge him off getting thrown into the league after a whirlwind and one practice. Dude probably still learning names and hasn’t even figured out who plays where
