Is this tank potencially able to be a runner?

It never was. It could barely crawl.

Potentially yes. Problem is sourcing another engine. I believe it was donated to Tiger 231.

@@tempest411 the museum doesn't want to put reproduction parts on the tanks it would remove them from their original state in the war. There are running examples that go to events throughout Europe and some of them are on a course for the vehicles to drive around.

@@tempest411The problem is several things, 1 building a engine is expensive, 2 the original engine for the Tiger 2 was extremely underpowered (Hence engine trials with the now infamous SLA-16) and 3 the Tiger is so heavy, so fuel hungry, so slow and underpowered that it’s better as a static display then a moving vehicle. The Tiger 1 they have enjoys being able to run because it’s a much lighter tank then it’s cousin and it’s already a pain in of itself to deal with.

That thing is massive for being a tank from WW2. How does it compare to a modern MBT? Check out the videos the Parola Armour Museum published about it's towing with the Leopard 2A6 and 2A4.

They weigh so much they were incredibly unreliable to run originally, the maintenance would be extremely expensive probably

Try finding first the parts needed, and than hope if you find them that they are affordable.. Also there could be a great chance of engine failure which could damage the tank so i understand they don't wanna risk it

@@lightbluewaves5526 the parts can be build up with the technology we have probably the bottom line is the lack of will to make that tank run on its own power.

not the engine is the problem, the original transmission is, was and will be. Like the running french Tiger 2 you have replace it with a "modern" reliable one.
