To everyone saying, “OMG Markie someone died on the cruise!!” He posted a response in one of the comments, that he felt it was not appropriate to talk about that in a KZitem video like this. And honestly, I concur. I think we all need to take a minute and think about how we would feel if a family member, or someone we loved, passed away on a trip abroad, and how we would feel if we saw other people commenting, on a KZitem video concerning that death. The person who passed away was a private citizen, who clearly didn’t lead a public life, and I don’t think their death should be treated like some kind of reality show spectacle. There is a difference between commenting on people who have made themselves public figures on TikTok, and commenting on someone who is a private citizen. Acting like this is another type of spilling the tea, it’s just not the mood.

I'm not surprised that Royal Caribbean treated the segmenters so shitty. They never planned to have segment passengers, and were probably pissed they had to do that. Since they only allowed segment passengers to recoup some money, I'm not surprised they charged them for ridiculous stuff and wouldn't give them refunds like they did the others. I'm also not surprised they didn't do anything to the aggressive pinnacle member who assaulted the woman. If you have enough money, you can assault people, commit crimes, etc and get away with it; that's the same on the water as it is on land. Those aggressive cruise members should be named and shamed imo.

I reported it immediately nobody got back to me. Cruises by their nature, are classist. As a former Princess Cruises rep it was made very clear our job was both a punching bag & emotional support for pre/post cruise passengers & even traveling/ON BOARD. I was able to work from home, which was almost unheard of for any LEGITIMATE job way back in the economic crash of 2007-2009. However, when we were regularly yelled at all day long (with a psychologically abusive spouse yelling at me or preventing sleep by loudly snoring) it stops being "a way to keep from burning out & prevent all the chronic headaches" when you are just getting yelled at while at home. Princess (& their HR, no union) made sure us reservations agents understood we were even *less valuable* & than even a *potential* passenger on the cheapest cruise. We were expected to be fleshy robots with only the gov protected breaks to have human needs, like many mega corps. Unfortunately, on board the workers from non-white majority countries were seen as even less valuable humans than us on land. I know the Royal on land agents are watching the news of this cruise, anxiety increasing with every complaint, bracing for the onslaught of slurs & microphone limiting screams.

Royal is focusing so much on their big ticket customers they are losing people who could become their future big ticket customers. They are forgetting about the natural cycle of sales. Eventually their current gold members or whatever are gonna die and they have to adapt to the current generation and what they want on cruises. They could have helped her plan and understand just what a world cruise is. Personally, if she was my client, I would have persuaded her to one or two regular cruises to the areas she wanted to visit. There are tons of cruise lines with ships and itineraries all over the world that sail anywhere from 2 nights to 22 nights, without having to do the world cruise. Especially if she was a "segmenter". Everyone would have been on the ship for the same length of time, so she wouldn't have felt less than. Some cruise lines (including Royal) even have "solo" cabins on some of their ships for single passengers. Also, regular cruises aren't priced as all-inclusive like the world cruise was. You don't have to buy drink, internet, laundry, or dining packages if you don't want to. She could have saved a ton of money and had a much better time. I love cruising and am planning to become an independent travel advisor specializing in cruises, myself. With that said, I have never met more entitled people than on a cruise ship. Majority of people are fun and nice, but there is a small segment of just plain old a-holes. Young, old, lowest tier, or highest tier in the loyalty program, it doesn't matter. There are always rotten apples in the bunch. I just avoid them or ignore them when I can't avoid them. My husband and I usually make up names for those people and them make stories for them like they are in a soap opera throughout the cruise.

I just binged all the UWC videos and i cannot wait for more this has definitely put me off ever doing a cruise aside from the ocean in general.

Well, if the 'segmenters' are saving the line's a$$, they should be treated properly. They may become lifelong passengers.

My family has been wanting to go on a cruise for a while now…. No thank you, I like peace and quiet and my own space. The only one I’d consider is the Norwegian cruises and it would take some time convincing me to go 😂 This world cruise though sounds like such a nightmare….

On the poor soul who passed away, (may they rest in peace,) the ship’s medical department did what they could to keep that person alive, including asking guests to donate blood, if they were A+. Those over age 50, make up the largest segment of cruisers aboard. When you live long enough, your body has some issues. While medical department is well equipped and stocked for a cruise like this, they do not have a full intensive care unit or operating room. People do routinely pass away on cruise ships.

A lot of times whenever they have these contracts about you can't abuse someone or physically harm them or whatever, it'll come with some thing saying that if this were to happen you violate the contract and therefore you will not be refunded whenever you get kicked off the cruise. The reason that they're probably not doing anything about it is not only a classist situation but also because they want their money in the future

The making people pay for 2 drink packages when they are struggling to sell the cruise is literally insane. I've never seen a ceuise not give discounts to single passengers if they are desperate for people to buy

If that is the case and theyre stance is they wont do anything to the man harassing and assulting people and are allowing him to get away with it because it happen off the ship . He would have a very painful experience the next time the cruise docks or has a boat hop to land for off boat activities and he leaves the ship. He may even happen to exceeding the alloted waiting period given to reboard the cruise before they raise anchor and leave without him. One way or another im sure he wouldnt bother anyone again and probably wont leave the ship or maybe even his room the rest of the cruise.

My grandmother goes on cruises. She tried to get me to go but I told her I've seen too many horror movies. 😂 I always thought it sounded like a nightmare. I've never been on a cruise ship or an airplane. I would've had to get on both. My only thought is, "Nope." I'm surprised people forgot about that cruise that was stuck in the water for months. I don't know it's name but it was when covid hit. Everyone going on cruises are insane. I hope another ship doesn't get stuck like that one. If your cruise does get stuck then remember "I told ya so."❤

This is so funny to me because it is the literal definition of rich people problems. I just can't bring myself to feel bad for a single person complaining. Even the lady who was in this video...why TF would you even go on a cruise where you have to pay for two people for no reason?! That would have been the first and only red flag I'd need to say absolutely not going on this scam ship. You literally paid double to have a shitty time. And you can't tell me she didn't know it was gonna be shitty time. The red flags were waving from the beginning. Honestly watching rich people complain about their problems just gives me indigestion, but it is so satisfying to watch when they finally get treated like the rest of us.

Let me help you understand what a pinnacle member is. The more nights you spend on board, the higher your Crown and Anchor level is. A pinnacle member has spent 750 nights on board. That is how they get that, if they have a better room it is because they paid for a better room. I am a 4th level member and I just cruised with an inside room because it is the cheapest. I was solo and I too could not understand why I had to pay double gratuities for it... so I feel her pain there. Royal Caribbean does not have policing authority off the ship. If a cruiser gets kicked off a ship they don't get reimbursed for anything.

I'm nervous that they won't let you buy a ticket when they see your name, Markie. I bet people on the cruise are watching you now. Even the employees. The staff. They might not be too keen on having essentially "the press" undercover on their ship. You may have to be a little more discreet. But either way I 100% support you.
