For sure! I did do like one play once when I was a pre teen (that's how I got hooked) but then it dis-bannded, and a bunch of other stuff happened, so I couldn't do that anymore. Then, when I went to look for ANY classes or community theater programs, what few there were were either WAY pricy, or required experience (which I obviously don't have). So, I'm stuck being a way overdramatic and excited "pretend" actor, with absolutely no clue what I'm doing and nowhere to have fun.

@@ellak6009 I totally agree! In my opinion, the movie gives the musical a bad rep so no one actually listens to it. If people actually listened to it they probably would like it! It does have a few lines that are kinda awkward (“it’s totes amaze i’m way impressed, like sweet technique”) but overall I think the story and music deserve a chance that should be taken. I mean, in my opinion, the DCOM was not the best because you are trying to cram 2 1/2 hours of a musical into about 60 to 90 mins. The musical is so much more flushed out. Idk why I wrote so much in response to this, i could probably write more, honestly just tell me and i could write more haha. Long story short to anyone else reading this (which i mean its long so thanks for reading this really long comment, i appreciate you, and even if you didn’t I also appreciate you because you should just feel appreciated in the world,) Give freaky friday a chance, because its an underrated musical. P.S. Heidi Blickenstaff is a queen. Change my mind.

That one of the entitled theatre kid was actually perfect 😂 Especially when she went "Is everyone on the high note or just me and Camille because I think it should just be us". It perfectly describes the entitled theatre kids who have parents that own a studio or are drama teachers so they usually get the lead and special harmony parts and then they don’t get the lead or any of the special harmony parts so you have to ask.

My idea for a musical: It’s about a genderfluid teen named Taylor. Taylor is trying to get through senior year of high school, but the two parts of their inner self are constantly fighting and getting in the way of things. Conflicts are things like getting dressed for school, figuring out who to date, going to parties, and dealing with gender dysphoria when out and about Three leads, Taylor (the genderfluid teen), Tiara (the part of Taylor that wants to be a femme girl), and Tyler (the part of Taylor that wants to be a masc boy) Side note: the names can be changed to fit better into song lyrics but the idea was that it was a gender neutral name, a feminine name, and a masculine name that all sounded somewhat similar

This year was my first year working on a school musical. Our school was the only school in the county that put on a show (and miraculously no one got covid) we did Once on This Island and it was so cool to be a part of it. It was so awesome being a part of the little family they had. I wasn't actually in the show but I did a lot with the set, costumes, and backstage work. I was super excited to do it again next year but then found out the teacher is leaving and I'm not sure I want to do it anymore.
