Indulge in the delightful flavors of our 'Til Aur Kadipatta Rice'! This simple yet flavorful rice dish offers a perfect blend of nutrition and taste.
Ingredients
3 cups cooked rice
2 tbsps roasted white sesame seeds (safed til)
2 tbsps roasted black sesame seeds (kale til)
½ cup curry leaves (kadi patta)
2 medium onions
2 tbsps oil
2 tsps ghee
¼ tsp asafoetida
½ tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp split Bengal gram (chana dal)
3 green chillies
¼ tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
2 tsps lemon juice
½ tsp crushed black peppercorns
Method
1. Chop onions. Roughly chop most of the curry leaves.
2. Heat oil in a non stick pan, add 1 tsp ghee and let it melt. Add asafoetida, mustard seeds and split Bengal gram and saute till gram is lightly browned. Add onions and saute till onions are golden.
3. Add remaining whole curry leaves and the chopped curry eaves and continue to saute for 2 minutes.
4. Chop green chillies and add and mix. Add turmeric powder and rice and toss lightly.
5. Sprinkle ¼ cup water and mix. Add salt, white and black sesame seeds and mix well.
6. Add lemon juice and crushed black peppercorns and mix.
7. Finally add remaining ghee and mix. Serve hot.
