Great job Mitch!!! I have very olddd 80’s style “wood look” laminate countertops that technically have to be evened out due being uneven around the sink. I already have a smaller kitchen that I don’t really care for going into until I have to because it’s an eye sore lol It definitely needs some help. I’m a DIYer, but I wouldn’t even know where to begin

Hey guys, I finally was able to get around to comment on one of your videos. I am down here in SW Florida. I live in a town called Ft. Myers Beach. If it sounds familiar it is because on 9/28/22 we took the direct hit from category 5 Hurricane Ian. Days before the storm my wife, brother and I were finishing a 3 year restoration on our home that we purchased 3 years prior. We had invested all of our time and money into our waterfront dream home for our family to enjoy, especially our two daughters. Unfortunately mother nature had different plans. In just a few hours our home had been destroyed. Everything we owned, saved for and built had been destroyed. Photos, family keepsakes and memories crumbled in our hands. Even the tools needed to rebuild as well as our vehicles were swept away. Heartbreakingly, body recovery was needed as an unfortunate soul was found under our dock. Thank the Lord our family was fine. The reason I am commenting is to thank you. While walking the property with the insurance adjuster, she pointed out one thing they could not cover. To no exaggeration, she stated the magnitude of our loss but then swiped her hand across a mud covered counter and said "We will cover everything but these. They are in perfect condition. They were the countertops made with your fine product. In the days after, we used the same countertops to serve friends and neighbors on break from cleanup. It was also our level workbench, storage shelf for new supplies and in a few weeks will be re-installed as our new downstairs bar top. More importantly, it will serve as a welcomed reminder to never take for granted what we have right now. To appreciate the moments and the people we are blessed to share them with. Especially, to always know that life is a fragile gift that must always be appreciated. I hope this grants unto you the peace of mind in knowing that you are well represented here in SWFL. Not by me but the fine product you put forth everyday. Many of our friends have inquired about the product to which we proudly state...."It survived the storm" This is generally responded to with a simple head shake, nothing else needs to be said. For down here, we all understand. I hope this finds you well, thank God for this fine product and the company that stands behind it. You are truly appreciated. Humbly, Anthony "Mick" Leonard

Hey Mitch. Just wanted to say thank you for the skillset you put in my box... My wife and I are likely to be evicted within some time frame as landlord wants to move family in.... But we are gonna continue to make this place look spectacular..... We are loading up on materials - I'm rewatching your entire channel that I would never KZitem-dl and planning our next moves.... Doubt we would have budget for bathroom but we are going to do kitchen floor and counter... I got a nice 5" slab to get cut innhalf roughly to serve as entry way floor piece (studio apartment) will be a 1 bedroom by the time we are done with it.... We have in our bedroom "" 2 height adjustable tables of which we have been collecting nostalgic items so we can deep pour them both.... Soffits outfitted with addressable lights.... Perimeter of ceiling will be dropped to a new height.... And as I look at these walls and think about what you guys did with pink foam..... Ooooo man - I had lightbulbs going off .... Without demoing the walls what's your take on coating half inch pink foam and adhesives to the back of them . figuring it would be light weight (assumption) any ideas for supporting what essentially will be a wall "facelift". I am sure the next tenant in this apartment will absolutely adore this place... At least I hope so... Epoxy gave me a way out of my own misery and depression.... We pretty much got everything we need except the epoxy.... So looking forward to this... And more of your awesome videos which are PRICELESS Thank you and have an awesome weekend and upcoming holiday

Hey, Mitch! Can you epoxy plexiglass? I'm interested in buying a bus and converting it to a tiny mobile home. Unlike the conversions I've seen, I do not want any floor-to-celing solid walls, so my thought was to use plexiglass everywhere I want full walls allowing as much light as possible. For the bathroom, I thought epoxy over plexiglass coated with epoxy would grant privacy while allowing light to pass through.

My wife and I both have cancer so I'd really like to get this done while we're still up to it. To be honest it feels like once Stone Coat found out the size of my job all interest was lost. The follow up to my open ticket was, "...At this time, all orders from Canada must be placed over the phone with agents..." and a price list. This offers no aid in design and selection. So "Your ticket... has been Resolved" doesn't help us.

what brand of masking tape do you use? we are in Australia and did our countertop in situ using only a clear epoxy over copper leaf (we used another brand as we couldn't get your brand here). Sadly the masking tape we used literally fell off as soon as the clear epoxy hit the masking tape causing all kinds of drama with leaking epoxy on floor and into sink hole - it was a mess..!! we managed to save the top pour but the edges are a mess - can we re-mask the top edge and then apply clear epoxy to edges using our hands? We agreed on the Ozarks or somewhere near that area, so most likely in Arkansas but it could be anywhere around there or the surrounding states. As soon as they choose a location, I'll be looking to sell my house. Then either build on their property if it is 5+ acres or I'll be looking for my own land 1+ acres, that has to be within 15 minutes of their new house.

@StoneCoatCountertops
Жыл бұрын
Great question, It is best practice to apply a clear coat of epoxy over the project, if you omit you must apply the UTC to bring the top back to food safe. On this one a couple of factors had us going the route of no clear coat. We were on a time crunch and had a plane to catch and we applied a wash coat which helps build up the edge epoxy. Normally I always apply a clear coat to add depth, protect the edges better, brings top to food safe and if a repair needs to happen down the road we have a clear coat to sand and polish if needed

There are terrible things with it also. That live edge looks like it doesn’t belong because it doesn’t. Also, the matte finish added roller marks and a fish eye look to it. How is anyone impressed by this? Leggari posted a video months before this atrocity with a much easier process, AND their boss gives them respirators. SMH...

Hey Mitch. I need help getting a hair out of the dry epoxy. I use your art epoxy on a big project. I had it covered but still got dust. I sanded it and did a second coat to discover a hair in the morning. Ugh. I do not want to do a 3rd coat. Any suggestions on getting the hair out and still have the gloss finish? Help.

Sanding and polishing is more difficult than pouring another clear coat. Can I send you replacement materials to cover it? Email me directly mitch@stonecoatcountertops.com

Immediately thought this was Malachite. Wished there had been more close-ups. Now the kitchen needs new lighting and update the cabinetry to match the countertops. Nice wholesome people Owner and Artisans.

Not yet, I've poured over rough metal and it bonded very well.

I am with the Pennsylvania beekeeping association and we're looking to do a metal shelf for the Pennsylvania farm show. I'm going to make it out of metal racking and I'm kind of hoping. It's gonna work out the way I want gotta figure out a good honeybee theme color

Mike retired from Stone Coat 18 months or so ago. He passed the torch onto me and was training me for the past couple of years, I had some pretty big shoes to fill... Thanks for sticking around

Can I do a dirty pour on a floor and not use a roller and squeegee?
