Beautiful playing all round & nice nod/quote to the excellent Beatles version. A particular vote for Sven Jungbeck’s rhythm playing. I LOVE Gypsy Swing style but the one irritation I do have often is that the rhythm playing is way to loud relative to the soloist’s volume. It’s perfect here.

Actually I think this was a song from The Music Man, covered by the Beatles. But that is George’s great solo done expertly. And Paul’s vocals on it were great, as usual. One of the early Beatles best recordings for sure.

The first five chords of this number were an early guitar lesson for me. Then my teacher had to stop teaching because of leukemia. I did work out the chorus but then changed the song to the key of B and it became easy. But I am still dreaming of performing it like these guitarists.

It is desirable in D-major! “A Song about the Captain” (“There lived a brave captain ...”) - the Soviet song of 1936, written by the poet Vasily Lebedev-Kumach and composer Isaac Dunaevsky. It sounds in the movie for the film Children of Captain Grant performed by Nikolai Cherkasov.
