Tim's cross covered so much ground. I remember watching the '91 semis and losing count @ how many times Hardaway left Byron Scott in quicksand. Tim absolutely torched him, although to be fair he likely would've done the same thing to Magic, who was just too tall.

See how Isiah came back with a 3-point play because Hardaway didn't block him out? See, these are the things that the "ahhh" crowd doesn't get about basketball. So what if someone makes a great move - it's just two points; he gave up three.

Plain Simple Best comment on here. We live in the highlight reel culture. But fundamental understanding of the game made someone like Thomas an all-time great...and in this case, it proves out as the more effective play.
@plainsimple244
5 жыл бұрын
Exactly... remember, this was also early in the 1990-91 season as the Pistons were going for a three-peat and the Pistons were not in 'awe' of 'big games' at this point in their tenure. Isiah Thomas talked about winning titles and after you win, you cannot replace the hunger other teams go against you concerning. I'm sure for Tim Hardaway this was great and a great game for an upcoming Warriors' team that lost in the second round... meanwhile Detroit was injured starting in Jan. of 1991 and throughout still won 50 and made it to the ECF while they were swept by Chicago. Deep down I still think Detroit could have won in 1991 had they been healthy but politics and the Pistons breaking up their team while Rodman didn't develop a handle and a 15-20 foot jumper cost them at least 2 more titles.

Its A.i but hings evolve bruh. No Mr J ( Jordan) Without Dr J. A.i had the luxury of witnessing the RunTMC era & Hardaway was in his prime. A lot of young people don't know it but if not for Hardaway doing this.. move that is almost basic now.. If not for the crowd and announcers reaction to Hardaways Chi-Town swag and the way he did it. It became something. A decade later the ankle breakers of the And1 Clans expounded further and A.i was.. Surgically Crucial wit it.- But No Tim Hardaway no No cross over as we know it.

A.I. crossover is sick but, it at times can also be seen as an illegal violation plus it's very telegraphed. Hardaway's on the other hand when done right at the right time works better. Tim's is better.

Brandon Posey Never looked at it like that but i see what you mean.
