I'm a right leaning centrist but I'll listen to what Tim says every time because he IS actually an objective voice and I consider him to be #RealNews because of that. I don't agree with him 100% of the time but by far enough that Tim Pool is relevant to the national discussion, more so than ANYONE on CNN or even Fox. So yeah, Twitter brings a lawyer armed with technicalities and double talk. Rogan brings Tim Pool who is armed with the truth. Nope rhe only reaaon sites like Twitter and Facebook don't get sued for defamation say for instance if someone calls a straight guy a fag or vice versa thats called slander he would then be able to sue the user and or the company allowing it to be seen by the masses. When the company got its liscense to become a platform the only way they skirted the relations was by saying g Hey we arent going to censor anything other than death threats and crime the rest is protected by the constitution. Instead in 2015 and even before that they started slowly banning people who don't adhere to there political view which in turn takes them from bieng a bi-partisan news site to part sponsored community in which case everything would be used as evidence in a courtroom in many lawsuits twitter woukd be bankrupt in 1 day because they couldn't possibly fact check everything on there platform. If you want to be about free speach fine but if you want to have left leaning ideology that specifically targets people who don't adhere to pc culture and start banning just those people for disagreeing then you must face the regulators and prepare for millions of lawsuits...

@@magistar2243 I elaborated at length on another thread. I'll copy it for you below. You're absolutely right; I myself hate when people do posts like that. In my case I was hoping to be asked. But which question I was talking about should be obvious to anyone who watched the clip, since Pool kept pressing it for 15 minutes. From the thread: First, Poole claims that U.S. federal law does not ban hate speech or abusive speech, but Twitter does, on the basis of which he then repeatedly claims that Twitter thus does not "conform" to U.S. law. That is already thoroughly confused, because U.S. law does not prohibit banning a kind of speech from a platform. It just refrains itself from criminalising hate speech and verbal abuse. He then tries to claim that this prohibition of hate speech and abusive speech is "ideological" and runs counter to federal law (compounding the first confusion). But on top of all that he adds another layer of utter confusion: that foreign governments are using Twitter to manipulate elections, while Twitter is banning the speech (i.e. hate and abuse) of good American citizens for ideological reasons that are not in "conformity" with American law. What????? What does manipulation by foreign governments have to do with banning hate speech and harrassment? Poole is so confused that he sounds like he is saying that SINCE foreign governments succeed in using Twitter to manipulate elections, Twitter should stop banning hate speech and harrassment. That would be a thoroughly absurd non sequitur. The executive then tries to pin him down on that, and asks if he wants Twitter to refrain from banning hate speech or harrassment. He tries to squirm his way out by saying that would be too "reductive", meaning: that's exactly what my argument was implying, but I see how ridiculous the conclusion is, so let me see if I can weasel my way out of it. So again, WTF does manipulation by foreign governments have to do with banning hate speech??? Joe Rogan feels forced to observe that foreign governments - anyone who uses the platform - are subject to the same restrictions on hate speech and abuse. If anything, someone could argue that the restrictions on hate speech are *insufficient* and that *stronger* restrictions are needed to prevent manipulation of elections. But Poole is so confused that he thinks that manipulation of elections shows that there is something wrong with restrictions on hate speech. Utterly confused. (Someone then objected stridently that Poole is making a comparison between foreign manipulation and hate speech, one which is permitted and the other banned. And that's true. So what's my problem? I reply:) He's making a comparison between two things that have no relation to each other, but I agree that very stupid people might think that that is a brilliant insight. If you think about it - well ok, let's just assume you had a functioning brain - a platform can and should ban hate speech, which censors certain content, but you can't just ban foreign "manipulation", because there is no content-based analysis that can expose a tweet as "manipulation", there is no good reason to ban any tweet just because it is "manipulative" (a nebulous concept that can apply to almost any tweet) and there is no good reason to ban a tweet or an account just because it is foreign. The executive tried to point this out several times, and even Rogan had to explain to this putz that foreign accounts are subject to the same restrictions on hate speech. But the guy is so confused that he seems to be saying the incredibly stupid idea that if they can't stop foreign manipulation then they shouldn't ban hate speech. Of course when they directly asked him if this is what he is arguing, he tries to deny it, and calls it too "reductive". Then wtf is his point? He doesn't have any. But I agree that very stupid people will keep imagining that there is one.

@EyeofValor

They "enable" the "opportunity" to speak on our service. This is stating that everyone is allowed to speak, however, that does not give them the right. Tim is arguing that this is an infraction on free speech, because Twitter bans people they disagree with, and it is heavily focused on the right-wing side of politics in every country they are available on. They consider "hate speech" a means for these bans, but will ban people for speaking freely. Therefore, it makes public view skewed towards the people banned being hateful and ignorant, even if the tweets were not harmful, or even derogatory. Gaslighting in this case is Jack sowing the seeds of doubt in Tim's argument of who they decide to ban. If that makes sense.

The important thing is number (3) should NEVER be restricted, that is where ideology comes into it and influence on elections etc. The Left believe that right wing beliefs are "hate" and they get a free pass in banning right wing views by enforcing rules against "hate speech". Conversely the Left are allowed to hate anyone they want - the Founding Fathers, Catholicism, "Nazis" (anyone who disagrees with them) etc.... Entirely one sided bias.

I think it’s a safe bet to say that this lady will not be returning to Joe Rogan’s podcast. Jack might... he didn’t quite ‘back down’ as much as he listened and looked, to me, a bit lost. He must be a figurehead with no personal, day-to-day interaction with his company; there were moments when he seemed to not know what was actually going on with his platform. I get the feeling, he may not be as indoctrinated as this young lady and has allowed his company to be taken over by the leftist activists and ‘thought police.’ I may completely wrong here, I’m not really familiar with Jack Dorsey other than his role at Twitter, he may be a super left-leaning individual and is just disinterested with the company. I can’t say I blame him, take the loot and let someone else deal with it; just make sure they aren’t brainwashed by identitarians who preach tolerance, truth, and morals from one side of their mouths, only to bigoted, dishonest, and amoral from the other side.
