I’ve been a teacher for 20 years and looking at tim Walz you can tell he has too. You need to plan a tight 45 min for five classes a day as a high school teacher. And practice it five times a day, improving it, engaging with your audience , handling hecklers with grace and humor and messing up a million times to get better. He is really great at speaking bc he’s had so much practice but his record of helping people is even more impressive. He’s my fav ❤

Yesterday, in his DNC speech, Clinton emphasized a crucial point: since the Cold War, Democratic presidents created 50 million jobs, while Republican presidents created only 1 million. Both parties have had three presidents each, yet undecided voters still hesitate. What are they thinking?
@Seldarius
Ай бұрын
They’ve been fed party rhetoric for a very long time. Republicans have always claimed they are great at the economy - the facts disagree. The Republicans say they are the party of family values - the facts disagree. The Republicans also say Trump was a great president and Biden/Harris haven’t accomplished anything - the facts disagree. Unfortunately I don’t think the Maga base can be moved by facts. But the undecided voters out there need to hear the facts. The old school republicans who actually care about the country need to hear the facts. Because if you know the facts there is only one choice in this election. 💙

I've really liked Shapiro in interviews I've seen over the last couple of years, but his speech last night seemed a bit lackluster and stiff. For this moment in time and the crisis we're in, Walz was a surprising and ultimately amazingly perfect selection.

I'm German and currently more interested in US politics than German politics. In my defense, I have family in the US. Of course, the DNC is everything but on German prime time so I always watch the pre convention stream with Adam Mockler and then I have to watch the DNC stream the next day and my thought is: I just can't imagine anyone who's been following the DNC turn it off because it's too late without returning to it the next day to get the last hour of it. Seriously, even for me as non American, the energy is so infectious that I barely have been able to work this week because the stream was waiting for me. And I also believe that the DNC would have been different if Biden was running. I can absolutely imagine that even more people signed up for speeches which might have caused the prime time problem.

Awesome that you want to get more active in politics when you come home to Oz Loving the vibe of the convention love the speeches .... It suits Americans. Not sure the speech style would really work here in Australia. It's too loud and big noting of self qualities ... Cause we don't need to worry about voting for a head of state .... The party chooses the candidates and the governor general is a ceremonial role. So we pick a side not a person .... I reckon that's why we have a more policy driven public discourse than a focus on the individual qualities of a person
