Saw many a movie there in the 60's when it was the Lakeside Theater, as a young child. The most memorable were all the Elvis Presley and Beatles movies ! Thanks for sharing Billy !

My anxiety problem was kicking off seeing him handling that delicate stuff 😰
Wow, great stuff! As long-time Lakeside resident, I know much of the history, and can remember seeing movies in this theater (Three Stooges comes to mind!), and know quite a bit of the history and some of the long-time families that came to this area at the turn of the century. It would be interesting to identify those whose names were in this capsule, and see if they have family still in the area! Thanks to Betty, Billy, and the Wolfes!

mmm yeah, here's an old newspaper, I suppose there's some interesting stuff in it...moving on, here's a photograph with some writing on it, can't be bothered to read it out though. Here's another old photo of some old woman...I guess the writing on the back would give it some kind of context but I'm not going to read that either. OK, here's some paper with writing of some sort on it, and another one, and another one.

That was fun to see as the past, so much is forgotten that has so much meaning, all the people and hard work to create the building, and original signatures and names for researchers and writers of family history books who can cross reference a lot and to aid genealogists too. I think they should scan it all for the historical society archives where at times it could go on display or be written about in the local newspaper on anniversary dates. They should think of a better way to seal it for future discovery, so it's fireproof, and maybe scanned onto acid free paper so the original is there and the more lasting copy. Maybe a picture of the restorers and the people of today who were involved in preserving the building as part of the time capsule too, and a few things that would go up in value over the years to come, like coins from a coin collection. Maybe the buffalo nickels from 1911, or a silver dollar from then. Thanks to those who made this possible!

Actually - they should scan everything into a computer at around 600dpi. They should also use different types of light to do the photography. You never know what hidden details might be printed on the items. R-G-B as well as infrared and ultraviolet. That is how they have found several "hidden" writings on old books and other documents. Basically, an archeologist should look at them. But I would scan them in. That would preserve the photos if nothing else.
