Saw some switch over comments. I ran cars, similar. For van drivers that get upset over wait time while taking a nap, ok it'll help with weight loss as you'll have a lot of work getting loaded. Flip flop folks kinda hard climbing, tapping, and even being aloud in a yard that is actually strict on safety. I drop cardboard bails in a van, while guys are loading paper rolls. Boots/shoes, vest, helmet, safety glasses. Another thought is all that load time, you aren't running or paid there. Just a thought on top of a trailer, binders, etc cost vs a box & maybe 2 load bars & a few straps. Best of luck drivers. For now local w2 in Upstate NY, no point wearing out used paid for truck n trailer with a payment to lose $$.

Good Morning, I understand what you’re saying, again I’m just trying to help you understand the realities of trucking/business. I see it daily, even with guys with a paid off truck. Having low costs is great as long as you have built in the maintenance costs. If you have an older truck you are even more at risk and therefore should double the average maint costs piggy bank. The repairs are one thing however what people miss is the down TIME associated with the repairs. Remember in business your TIME is your most valuable assets, it is also your most expensive commodity you have. Time once lost is gone forever. You can replenish your fuel tank, you can mitigate your fuel cost, being able to MITIGATE and manage your TIME will either keep you in business or put you out of business. Stay safe.

The limitations with a Conestoga / roll Tite is that it prevents you from being able to run oversized.. for me personally an open lo pro tri axle step deck is the way to go as far as versatility

Tired of seeing brand new chains jingling on headache racks. Go back. And conestogas are for carriers with connections. If your brawling it out on load boards you want an open flat. I resent conestoga is used by nornies to circumvent tarping. I only run one now because my carrier has customer freight that includes CNC’s and super sacks of edible products. That’s it. Otherwise I’d throw tarp all day.
