If there’s one problem, it boils down to abandoning the run with a lead in the second half of games. USC’s overall run/pass ratio is 40/60 and the imbalance is most pronounced in the third quarter. Failure to finish drives without running clock leads to the defense taking field repeatedly and ultimately having to stop last-minute game-winning drives. It also puts pressure on the QB and other offensive position groups. Add, for example 7 points and subtract 5 minutes resulting from a balanced third-quarter drive and these four games end very differently, with USC in control and on top. USC’s primary weakness has been pass protection by a young OL; what the OL does well is run-blocking. USC averages 5.2 yards on 28 carries per game so far this season. Moss is throwing 50 times a game in recent games. Makes no sense to be leaning so heavily on the passing game. Evening things out would avoid the scenarios in which USC’s worst blunders have occurred. As PJ Fleck discerned, USC, even when it’s running well, wants to throw the ball. That needs to change. That change could be transformative.

Context matters. The USC offense stagnated in the third quarter; the defense has lost several key players very recently; the defense is thinner and more inexperienced than it was the first few games. The problem is a failure to take advantage of an effective run game at important junctures.

It appears USC has missed on 4 straight HC hires (Riley will be the second consecutive coach to fleece the school with go away money). What do they all have in common? All offensive minded head coaches. The last 10 National Championship winners all had defensive head coaches. Even USC's own Pete Carroll was a defense coach. Firing Riley does nothing if you can't get the replacement hire right. 1. Understand that you need to build a defense first and build both lines 2. Hire a defensive coach to do that. Like Oregon did with Dan Lanning. BTW Riley and Lanning were hired the same time 2022. Dan Lanning is 29-5 Lincoln Riley is 22-12. USC is still working on building both lines. Lanning is all set here and getting closer to being a serious playoff contender.

In that same press conference LR showed us his mentality. He said that his plan was to drive and kick a FG on that second to last drive. This is the problem! He’s game planning to not lose instead of game planning to put a team out of their misery, man up, and get 1 yard! Just like Maryland did against us twice! LR has NO killer instinct, fails to recognize the moments and communicate it to his team, has been shook by the pressure of LA, is playing scared, and so his team reflects this mentality and cowers in the face of pressure. He’s doing this in the city of “Mamba Mentality” and it is completely unacceptable!

It took Saban and Kelly 4 yrs to get Alabama and ND before thry started winning. On top of that, Moss is not a typical LR QB… hes not mobile. Naah . . . LR didn't lose the Will Howard sweepstakes. It was a done deal until Miller Moss balled out with a record 6 TDs against Louisville in the Holiday Bowl. Howard has one yr of eligibility left and he wouldn't want to be on the bench behind presume starter Moss. Hence he bolted to Ohio State. Now, fresh off his season at UNLV where he won Mountain West freshman of the year honors, Jayden Maiava was snatched from the clutch of Georgia in the portal to be Moss' backup and QB bridge before Julian Lewis gets on board. Gotta understand the sequence of events. Going forward, Maiava should now start.

🙄 After Moss’s performance in the Holiday Bowl, it was clear to everyone, including Riley and Howard, that USC had its new QB1. Moss isn’t the problem. USC really problem is they were built for the pac 12 if USC was in the pac 12 with this defense they would be ok USC isn't built for the Big ten too physical

Physical defense where pass interference is only called on sc and not their opponents 😂

@@rahb2096 have you not watched USC they can't tackle to save their lives all Michigan did was run the ball, and there is no excuse to lose to Minnesota and Maryland so clearly USC isn't built for the Big ten I'd wanna hear about any excuses USC flat out sucks and Lincoln needs to be fired

If Rutgers plays well, if UW shows up, if Neb plays their game, and if Ethan Garbers does it again, we can LOSE OUT, finishing 3-9. I think we win 2 of those games for 5-7. LONG BEFORE THAT, FIRE LR, PROMOTE MATT ENTZ, AND BENCH MM FOR JM. jesus we stink. 16 years of being COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT.

Dude, Ari brings this show down. He provides nothing. Idk why you keep bringing him on in your videos. This dude just annoys me right out of the video.
