Magnum is 100% correct. I remember when World Wide Wrestling first started airing here in Philly in late 1984, Saturday's at 2pm. I could not believe the realism of the product, as compared to the cartoonish WWF. Jim Crockett Promotions was the bomb!

If it wasn't for his unfortunate accident. Magnum TA would of went on to be a mega star in WCW.

Man, to think this guy could of been WCW's Hogan. I doubt it would've worked (TA seems way too regional to ever let WCW break out of the south) but it is interesting to imagine what if.

Is Magnum still not able to move his right arm much? That's sad if so. It looks like his right arm stays completely stationary the entire interview. To be fair though, he could've easily been killed in the car accident, so he is a lucky man.

First off - God bless you Magnum !!! - May God protect and bless you and yours always throughout eternity ! ! ! - And second ... You can tell a lot about a person by the timepiece they wear - Magnum is wearing a Rolex 18 karat yellow gold Presidential with what looks to be a cream colored dial with Roman numerals which tells me several things - A few are he has class - Style and he is in a Financial position that provides him the luxury of owning and wearing a high quality fine Swiss timepiece - The band is tight and looks to be in excellent condition. Without knowing any specific details about his financial situation I will boldly proclaim that he has done very well financially after he left wrestling and I am positive he did superbly financially during his years in wrestling. I respect you Sir and I tip my hat to you !!

Well it's your "god" that let the accident happen, so I don't think he's doing a good job of protecting and blessing.

I think they should have made Magnum T.A. the NWA champ after they bought the TBS time slot (exclusive). You could still have Flair on the periphery causing trouble for him. Flair is over with or without the belt. Maybe TA winning it at Starrcade 85. I know there is money in the chase. There is also money in having a hero travel the country. As good as the shows were I think leaving the fans happy would have made them better. They could switch it back to Flair later then you have your chase because the fans know what it was like with TA as champ and want to see it happen again.

***** NWA was still NWA during Magnum's active period with Crockett. There was no Turner WCW at that time. Watching Magnum/WCW just doesn't makes sense. It just looks weird. It's like with Charlotte calling the Four Horsemen a WWE faction. Weird. Then again I've been watching for 35 years. It's nice to see Magnum again.

+Kenro200x Matthew is wrong, but he's kinda right as far WCW probably being a better selling point than WCW. Though I imagine it's moot since anyone who knows about KFC is probably a bigger NWA fan than WCW fan anyway.

I'm pretty sure the Kayfabe commentaries audience knows about the NWA. They popped out interviews of Harley Race, Magnum and Nikita and those were mostly NWA oriented. If you're into this stuff then you probably know what WCCW, NWA and AWA. If the Kayfabe audience were more causal fans then I'd see the point of changing it to WCW. That's just me though.

The NWA still exists, This promotion was either called Jim Crockett Promotions which was a territory under the NWA. Back then there were so many promotions under NWA. JCP became WCW in 1988 when Ted Turner bought it. Think of WWWF becoming WWf then WWE, just a name change. Also WCW was a wrestling show on TBS that originally aired Georgia Wrestling before Vince bought them out

+ShadowAngel That's arguing technicalities. The point of this is that, when TA wrestled, it was under an NWA banner. The side of the ring said "NWA" or maybe "WCW". Regardless of whether it was a promotion, governing body or whatever, the point is that people associate TA with the letters NWA, not JCP. And the NWA was not a failed governing body. It lasted for nearly 50 years as a legitimate organization. By that logic, TNA is a smashing success.
