I noted that when you tap on the button more than once, it decreases the number more quickly, than the specified duration, maybe because it creates a new Timer instance, which simultaneously decrements the same time object. Try that...

Add a check at the beginning of startTimer: if (timer != null && timer!.isActive){ return; } Should fix your problem

Hey, I managed to create a periodically resetting timer for my app and I want to attach a function to this timer to execute it continiously with intervals. But when I navigate to a different page or terminate the app, the timer closes. How can I make it so that the timer never stops? I searched for background tasks but they all have a limitation of minimum 15 minutes, I want to run my function for an interval less than that. Do you know any solution or a widget that can be used to achieve this?
