This is an actor that takes his work seriously as an artform. We need more of this and less actors who just like to play pretend.
@mairinkenny6638
6 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry but that's ridiculous. He is 'playing pretend' right there. This film is a light-hearted flick and there's nothing wrong with that, but Timothée literally said he would do anything to try and get noticed like every other actor. He's good, but so are all good actors. He's not an odd one out. Stop being pretentious.

Máirín Kenny but not many actors would choose the roles he has chosen Ik he wasn't that famous before but you can't say he doesn't dedicate himself when it comes to any role. He really makes you feel his pain! You know? So yeah he is an amazing actor in my opinion especially at his age!.
@StephanieKOAStevens

What a bizarre thing to say, acting is playing pretend, it's not brain surgery and we're not curing cancer. Just because he's great at it, doesn't mean that he's not playing pretend.
@sasuke8488
5 жыл бұрын
Stephanie Stevens he means actors who pretend that they like acting. Not all actors are in it for the money but who actually appreciate it and take it seriously and as an art in which it is. Timothy is an actor who has such an appreciation for acting as an art and loves what he does unlike the actors who pretend like they do
@zacharyanderson614
4 жыл бұрын
Stephanie Stevens the best acting is NOT playing pretend. That’s what the whole of modern acting is based on: telling truths. Timothee is an amazing actor because he “lives the part” which is incredibly hard to do. There is an immense amount of work that goes into any respectable actor’s performance and to chalk it up to “playing pretend” doesn’t seem right.
@clashfan2875

The insane level of difficulty in this scene is surreal. He can't simply take on the role of Biff and do the monologue he has to be Billy taking on the role of Biff doing the monologue. It's kind of mind blowing. This is a good movie except I went to enough Drama competitions in my youth to know that if someone had a performance like this one they would have been going home in first place.

I find it frustrating when people think Timothee is overrated. They obviously only see the stardom he's received from his good looks. A lot of people still somehow oversee his astronomical acting capabilities. This scene had so many layers to it and he nailed everything! He's an incredible actor, especially for his age, and I hope he gets taken more seriously.

the only ppl who think he’s overrrated are just haters who know nothing about how hard it is to do what he’s doing. the fact his peers have given him nothing but adulation for his talent speaks volumes. cause they actually KNOW the craft and when someone is talented.

You’re gonna hear the truth, what you are and what I am. You never told the truth for 10 minutes in this house. Well hear this Willy, this is me. You wanna know why I had no address for three months? Its cos I stole a suite in Kansas city and I was in jail. I stole myself out of every good job since high school and I never got anywhere, because you blew me so full of hot air I could never stand taking orders from anybody, thats who’s fault it is. It s god damn time you heard that pop. I ran down 11 flights with a pen in my hand today, suddenly I stopped, do you hear me? And in the middle of the office building,DO YOU HEAR THIS? I stopped in the middle of the building and I saw the sky. You know I saw all the things I love in this world, the work, and the food, the time to just sit and smoke. I looked at the pen and I thought to myself, what the hell am I grabbing this for huh? Why am I trying to become, what I don’t wanna be? What am I doing in an office making a contemptuous , begging fool of myself, when all that I want is out there waiting for the the second I say I know who I am. Why can’t I say that willy? Pop look at me! Im a dime a dozen! And so are you. Im not a leader of man, willy! And neither are you! You were never anything but a hard working drummer who landed in the ash can like all the rest of em. And me? Im a dollar an hour willy! I tried seven states, I couldn’t rase it! One buck an hour! Do you gather my meaning, huh? Im not bringing home prizes, anymore. And you gotta stop waiting for me to bring them home pop. Im nothing, Im just what I am. Thats all.

For example this one he is a character playing another character and you can see how his character shines through the monologue of the new character. William Schütz melo oh man. The only thing is all of those icons died young and tragically. I’m going to compare him to someone like Christian Bale and Daniel Day Lewis because they are still happy and healthy and alive 😬😬

timothée is one person that i admire so much with all of my heart. not because of his compassion, charisma, and looks, but because of his acting. he’s a talent that has that natural gift.

how is this film so under appreciated? i mean look at this, he’s fucking amazing. half of the actors today couldn’t have delivered a performance full of this much emotion and they’re like twice timmy’s age ???? take notes ladies and gents
