I love my 7hz completely changed how I view IEMs. The bass is so perfect the intro to the stage by avenged sevenfold shook my head more than any over ear I own. The only thing I don't like is there is no consistency with the ear tips I've seen like 5 different sets so far lol mine came in plastic cases others get loose bags. I got clear ones Zeos didn't get.

I got the plastic case too (bought from HiFiGo via Amazon) my metal case came with a single bar magnet not a 5 small magnet array like Zeos did. Also I noticed the blue tips were too small to fit over the nozzle, making them 100% useless.

@@moonmessiah9368 Yeah, I felt like I'd break them trying to get them on, so I just stopped. I'm using the 'small' sized tips from my Fiio F3's, they are smaller than all the tips from the Timeless. It goes f3's small → red → F3's medium/black/pink/white (those all seem to be the same) though each of these tiers appears to only be 1mm different in size.

14.2mm is 201.6% of a 10mm. So, a scooch over double the driver area. Two 10mm would still be double the area, because it's just double A=πr squared.
@miagi1337

All correct. Surface is one thing but excursion is important too. That could be a significant difference between planar and dynamic resp. dynamic woofer. Like the Audio Technica M60x are a good example. They are tiny and don't have a big driver but they can produce low end. I think they are using drivers with high excision or at least above avg excursion.

@@TBMartin perhaps I am missing something... 7hz falls right in between 5hz and 9hz. I dont understand how that doesn't work? I mean I admit I am speculating, but if you know the real reason behind the company name, please enlighten us all.
@TBMartin
2 жыл бұрын
@@jcparks1980 Because if the "brown note" was indeed real then the effects would be felt when playing sound between 5hz & 9hz. The "brown note" is not just at 7hz so your joke does not work. They are named 7hz because 7Hz stands for the Theta Wave, a frequency that is often associated with meditation and harmony and they named themselves 7hz to reflect this ideal by taking you into a pure musical trance.

With the 7hz the way you said "They just woop, just woop" ( 13:49 ) is the best description Ive ever heard of them. The more I use the 7Hz Timeless the more I love it. Recently got the VE RAP5 Amp and now that it has more power than my Shanling UA2 could offer its even more magical, but it sounds good even out of a cheap Dongle like CX Pro or Avani and heck even off my Nintendo Switch 3.5 Jack! I have the P1, P2 and P.D. 1. Got the P1 as my first real IEM based on Z's review, and love them. Then bought the P2 because the P1 was so good, and fell in love all over again. The P2 is Sundara level good detail wise and has one of the best stock cable setups. Both the P1 and P2 like power, I use a Modius/Magnius for balanced and Asgard 3/MBit for single ended and they are plenty. So then I was in this Sundara/Modius/Magnius and Focal Elex/tube rolled DarkVoice stage, and I really wanted a more bassy IEM. I ended up with the P.D. 1, its not as detailed as the P2, but it is good enough and the bass is sooo good. Everything sounds so lively and they require minimal power. It's my movie headphone of choice at the moment. Any of these headphones are a worthwhile purchase. I have a Timeless set on the way from Drop, but it sounds like they will fit right in. :)

I would really advise against hart audio’s iem cables; they look nice but they are not built well at all. The fabric *will* eventually detach from the MMCX connectors under normal use since there is absolutely no stress relief, and once it does you’ll see the entire “cable” is just two extremely thin, non-twisted, non-braided wires surrounded by a whole lot of nothing. Very disappointing

Im a bass guy when it come to music so as my first IEM I started with the FA 7 just to see what it's like. V like a mofo. Then IKko oh 10. Meh. Then Theiaudio Legacy 5 better. Now I want to try planar. 7hz has my interested. Or should I go Harmonicdyne?

7hz has crazy awesome planar bass. I don’t think you would be disappointed. However my source could be making it more warm than it really is.

To me, the original P1's bass was anemic and barely there. If the P1+ has even less bass then it must have no bass at all. Neither did the original P1 have aggressive mids, Blessing 2 has aggressive mids. P1's mids were forward but not skull-piercing like the B2's. (My impressions.)

Did you give them a real burn-in period? My bass grew a lot from initial listen, on the P1. But I thought Z said the + had more bass. Just listened to those for 1 hour out of the box, the bass seems a bit more substantial. But they're definitely not bass heavy. I like it neutral.

can someone tell me what the big deal is about IEM's? I have never found one that even comes close to the sound quality of headphones, and I always have to deal with ear pain and rashes for a week after I use them, and no, I am not playing them too loud. It always causes great ear pressure, and the sound quality always pales in comparison, in terms of definition and clarifty compared to even average headphones. How come no one else feels tremendous ear pressure or ear pain or discomfort or rashes when they use them, and find the the sound quality superior? I asked and ENT doc, and his response was "no one should EVERY use IEM, putting things inside ears will always degrade your hearing and extremely unhealthy. Humans ears are not designd for this."

In my opinion: IEM's have certain advantages...sound generation is delivered inside the ear canal so other variables that effect sound are taken out of the equation (e.g. room size/shape/construct/positioning...head placement of ear cups...headphone pad type...outer ear shape). They are typically much easier to drive given driver size (they push much less air) so they are less susceptible to distortions. Once ear tips are properly spec'd/chosen, IEM's tend to be very consistent. If abused, they are no less dangerous to ear health than any other sound generator. As they can be excellent insofar as isolation (typically), volume should be properly managed to actually reduce this element and thereby reduce the chance for volume abuse (i.e.: the tendency to overcome external inference(s) by increasing volume). As they are placed inside the ear canal, one does need to be sensitive to hygiene (both equipment and ear) and for some individuals, heavier wax buildup inside the ear canal. However, there are at-home cleaning techniques (see Mayo clinic site for recommendations) that are readily available. Personally (as I have no ear drum damage/perforations), I do a 3% hydrogen peroxide wash every other month and avoid placing Q-tips inside my ears. In any event, warm water during normal showers/baths is usually enough for most people to control such matters. In the extreme, some seek professional cleaning from time to time. I am not a doctor, but from what I have read on the subject from a variety of qualified experts...it is all about proper use. Anything in excess is usually not good over the long term. When it comes to audio matters, excessive volume at the higher frequencies. Therefore, if you are prone to blasting volume...you are not on a good path irrespective of the device of choice. Oluv's gadgets has a good video on this particular subject where he takes you through a professional/medical interview and ear cleaning. For me, the nice thing about IEM's, in general, is their capability to deliver exceptional performance with minimal investment in supporting equipment. Less power requirement to drive them means a more discreet infrastructure investment. For me, I easily get by with my Win10Pro PC using a jitter filter + BTA30 Pro + BTR5 (w/LDAC) + cabled EM; else either BTR5 paired to Android phone or a dongle DAC (i.e.: CS Pro CS43131 , Abigail). If I want a full wireless experience, then I go for my KZ AZ09 Pro earhooks (US$26 on discount), w/AptxHD quality.

Has anyone tried to take the circle thing off the 7hz? It's not part of the cavity or anything right? Couldn't you just trim it down?

13:03 Yeah, maybe with foams (which I haven't tried). These are all just bass with mids (2k) being too forward and recessed treble. But with EQ man, the only thing they're not very good at is imaging (ER2SE is my reference here). Also sibilant at around 7k.

Just bass with mids thats hilarious music isn't mean to be flat and dull and I cant imagine the er2se having any character at all they may be great at imaging but they look lackluster as all hell wit those tiny drivers and tiny frame that probably deliver no bass which isn't a realistic or accurate reproduction of the music ever been to a live orchestra? I haven't either but the bass response is heavy.

Z, since you love Nanna v2, does it make sense to get the Timeless if I already have Nanna? (what does it do better / offer something Nanna doesn't?)

I mean if you want a VERY competent IEM that costs way less for moving around the Timeless are perfect. They also have enough of a different soundstage as to make them a worthy companion.
