Gracias!!!!

Have recently started watching Gavin's videos and love them! Especially as someone who just set up a basement studio. I just wish I had high ceilings like you.

Watching the replay, of course, but how high is your studio ceiling? Went it's not ungodly hot in Southern California, I will shoot in my garage and I have about the same area 10 feet by 15 feet. But my ceiling is 8 feet tall.

Hi Gavin, the demo is super awesome as always! The camera and the lense you use... the 12-40mm do we have to understand it as full frame or crop? If crop what is the approximate equivalent of your focal length in full frame? Thank you 🙏

Thank you for this video! It has helped me understand several things on a much more practical level because of the space you limited yourself to. It’s the same amount of space (except the ceilings) as the inside of my chicken coop! I have my own studio space in my backyard and I didn’t even know it! 🐓🙃

Just for fun you should take the raw file from the no flash black frame and see how far you can boost it in Lightroom to bring back an image.

Instead of buying a light meter, couldn't I just download a phone app?

What happened to the red light meter? The new one looks very, er, flash! Don't lose it, Gavin, they're bloody expensive.

I almost gave this (and all your others) because you have to stick your flash meter in my face. Is there any reason I should not believe you when you say the meter reads F5.6?

Thanks Gav and team, my little studio is 3m square with a door in the middle of one wall, so that lets me get back a little more from the subject. I shall be putting most of these tips into practice here in Spain.

Gavin, when you are using the Xplor 300 pro with a gel you appear to be using a ‘pop in ‘ gel that goes on the default reflector for that light. Is this right? Which gel holder are you using and is it going on the default reflector or another adapter on the light?
@GavinHoey
7 ай бұрын
I'm using an Xplor100 Pro flash and the OTA adapter. For the gels I've got the OTA gel set which attaches magnetically. The gel set comes with an empty frame for your own gels. More info at www.adorama.com/glsbppotfk.html

@@GavinHoeyThanks, sorry, I thought this unit was a 300, but that was my error. I thought maybe you had a trick for the 300🙂, no problem, I see some DIY 3-D printer options for the 300, and some pre-cut options I just wish it was as easy as the 100 makes it but the bare bulb makes that tricky 🙂

Sorry I missed the live show but you always bring up the Inverse Square Law. So I thought I would put this out there. The inverse square law can be mathematically expressed as: I∝ 1 over d2 where I is the intensity, d is the distance, and ∝ means proportional to. This means that as the distance from the source increases, the intensity decreases by a factor of the square of the distance. For example, if the distance from a light source is doubled, the intensity of the light is reduced by a factor of four Hope this helps. Love your Videos.

Every live I watch from Gavin I learn multiple tricks. But what impresses me way more is, how he does not seem to have planned what he's teaching and reacts instantly to comments from the audience making it look like he wanted to show that anyways right at this moment :) That's what I call a great teacher
