Grandpa's sawdust ...if I ever win the lottery, you`ll finish your dream shop and then some! I`ve been stuck behind a computer modeling in 3D Max for the past twenty-five years and I`m about to start my wood working journey. Did some renovations around the house, and based on some comments ...and the satisfaction it gives me, I think I`ve finally found what I want to do. Shame it`s somewhat late in the game as i just turned fifty, but as they say ...better late than never. My very best to you and yours, may all your dreams come true!! You`ll CONTINUE to grow, and I look forward to seeing it!!!

Anyone that is as good with animals, is number one by me! Take Care in these difficult times! Cheers, Sean

The sawdust from your grandfather's workshop is something special. My grandfather passed away nearly 20 years ago and I was fortunate to discover some tools in the shed which had been left behind by my uncles. I restored his 26" Disston 7-point rip saw and it now lives above my work bench. I also got one of his old oil cans, so I put the oil for my sharpening stone into it. Always important o hold on to a few things for the sake of memories and the people who made you the person you are today.

You stole my ADD excuse! Hella great ideas in this one video. First the philosophical challenge to power tools which (i'm actively laying out a garage wood shop) I've encountered on KZitem, and a relevant reminder that carving, drawing wood, planing, and chiseling is fun for me. Second the self awareness to include non-work nooks for contemplation or video work. Lots of inspiration in physical reminders of your journey. Third is "scrum board" learning is now on my schedule thanks to your generous, candid and transparent sharing of your challenges or vulnerabilities and how you deal. I have an 8x7 shed, I had to cut some length off of my bench to fit it in! I'm looking forward to the warmer weather here in North Yorkshire, since the other half of my shop is really the yard. I wanted to say thanks for being open about your mental health. I've struggled with depression for years now, and found the lack of confidence it brings really kills motivation. I've tried using a backlog board to manage tasks in the past, I'll try that idea out again now that I'm thinking about woodworking again.
@AnneofAllTrades

Sorry to hear you struggle as well. Backlog boards haven't been super helpful for me because eventually they just become lists of what I HAVEN'T done. The kanban/scrum boards really have changed that. Check out the book doing twice the work in half the time. It really changed the mindset of "to do" lists to rewarding myself for "what's possible and what's done :)"

You are FANTASTIC! i am really impressed. I am in my eighth decade and just did some mortise and tenon work? (No Pictures) I assembled two legs on a 2 x 4. . A dog's hind leg would be straighter. Good for you being open about depression. Been there. Am in Gods hands and enjoying life!

Very Nice Shop/Office. Also very nice Tool Collection. If you don't have to tools you can't do the job. But always room for more Tools lol. Enjoyed very much. Glad you have the Bottle from your Grandad Shop. Stay Safe and Peace Be With You ☮️

Thank you! I would argue to some degree not having the tools makes you a more skilled craftsperson because you learn all the good workarounds, but I do love collecting tools ;)

I attended Anne's class at Christopher Schwartz's shop. She was, as you might imagine, a splendid teacher--kind, patient, enthusiastic and a perfect model. She was generously assisted, I should add, by Megan Fitzpatrick, who is as fun and funny as she is knowledgeable. --Thank you both.

I too, love the little jar of sawdust from your Grandfathers shop. All of your woodworking in your shop whether it's tables, chairs of toolboxes make that area so comforting. It must be a special treat to do projects there and feel so comfortable.

Wow. As a 71 year old bipolar, adhd, obsessive I am going to try scrum analysis. Reminds me of my old work diary. I must have 20 projects on the go at any one time and none seem to be finished. No wonder I get confused. I love your energy and engaging manner. Definitely subscribing. Tennessee is a long way from the Land of Oz (Australia) and Covid is a challenge but woodworking is a universal language. I'm looking forward to catching up with your other videos.

Wow, it is so exciting to see a beautiful woman with all this excitement and talent for woodworking. My grandfather was a carpenter, dad a hobbyist I learned turning from. My passion is metals, but do love the smell of a wood shop. In fact, I found you today through another favorite, Christ Centered Iron Works, you were one of five you tubers he highly recommended. I liked, now subscribing. Great job, can’t wait to watch more of you.

I just discovered this channel. Anne is so natural and normal I feel a friend is talking to me. She should give a class to KZitemrs on how to be normal. That she talks about woodworking, one of my hobbies, is a plus. Subscribed.

I cant believe how clean and tidy American wood workers keep their shops, I could never have a computer in my dusty, untidy shop, Seems you all must spend more time dusting and cleaning than you do on projects but I must say you produce some very nice work.

Nice "little shop, Anne, and Welcome to Tennessee~! I was raised down the road from Nashville in Chattanooga, but we're currently (stationed) in Augusta, GA. We intend to return to "The Nooga" after we retire. I'm Army-retired, but we'll both retire (me again) for good in a few years where I'll finally be a full-time woodworker. I can't wait to see your dream shop~! I finally "upgraded" to a 30x40 pole barn after working in single-car garage sized spaces for years. Moving from here will be bitter-sweet, but doing it all over again is exciting too. Congrats~!!

Another great video Anne! When you showed your grandfathers wood shavings was a really cool thing to do. I wish that I had something like that from my grandfather. What that shows is the great relationship you had with your grandfather. Keep the great videos coming. Thanks for sharing and God bless

Absolutely wonderful to spend a little time with a sister soul, and one so young and inspiring. I began my own journey a million years ago at the tender age of 18 when I bought a plot of land with my pocket money. I battled conventional thinking and opinions and somewhat blithely ignored the effect that would have on my 'success'. You redefine that when you reach a certain age after life has tested you to the max. I'm 53 now, solo, and I live as sustainably as I can and make, build, fix and grow everything possible. It became life rather than the ambition and lifestyle I suppose. Living in work. I'm a blacksmith trained by by my blacksmith father, a self-taught amateur traditional woodworker, a plumber by necessity, an aspiring but lazy musician, a forest keeper (over 200 acres of tough Aussie bush), I've built three of my own natural homes and assisted others in a mentoring capacity to build their own dreams. I'm a hill culture organic gardener and I'm a teacher of everything I know free to others, particularly women who want to feel empowered with new skills that give them a new kind of freedom. Like you I've come a long way through trauma to the other side where contentment and the love of everything that is life are all that matters. My workshop is a little rougher, everything secondhand, lovingly restored and maintained, my work not so refined as yours but I am capable of those heights. Marvelous to know that younger women than I, are following their dreams. Imagine where you will be when you reach my age. Extraordinary!

This is the first video of yours I've watched. I have some mental health issues, and I love to start new projects. Finish them.....mmm....not so much. Lol. Shortly after starting a new project, my mind is racing ahead to the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that.... I'm dealing with it now - trying to keep myself focused on one project till it's finished. I tell myself the reason I'm excited about a new idea, is because it involves wood, and tools - well, the piece I'm currently working on also involves wood, and tools, so pour your excitement into it. It's mostly working for me. Lol. Ok, I'm going to watch more of your stuff.
