Thank you! I hope that gets your throttle working. It seems the brushed ESCs see the throttle points different than the brushless ESCs. Until this project I had only used this receiver with brushless ESCs and so I didn't run into this problem. I checked another micro receiver from a different manufacturer and it had the exact same issue. Strange! Please let me know if that fixes your issue as well. See you in the Air!

Thank you for this video. This didn't solve my problem but allowed me to investigate further. On my Radiomaster TX16S, I tested all the dimmers and eventually found that the motors activated when I used the knob I had assigned to the screen lighting ! Channel 14 ! I reassigned the Throttle to channel 14, and it worked ! I can't explain everything, but the important thing is that it works. So, in the event of a problem, I recommend investigating the different dimmers.

Sometimes these Receiver / Gyro boards will not arm the motor if you have too much trim programmed in on any of the control surfaces. Try removing any trim you have on the Ailerons, Elevator, and Rudder and then see if the Motor Arms as it should. That's worked for me in the past. See you in the Air!

i have issue with my plane volantex p51 mustang not working well when try to throttle half after 1 min it will stop but when i tried full throttle its working then when u throttle down not working again what is the possible issue?
@GroundControlRC
4 жыл бұрын
It could be timing of the motor and ESC. I think the Volantex Easy Plug ESCs can be programmed via the transmitter if I'm not mistaken. I know I had to go through the process of programming the ESC with my Throttle range a couple of times before the ESC accepted the high and low range of the Throttle Stick. That could also be an issue if you haven't programmed that with the Transmitter. I would start there. Also, this power system pulls quite a few amps. You need a pretty high capacity 2S LIPO to get some decent flight time. I was only getting a couple minutes of flight time with the 2S 450mah LIPOs I was using. I was getting approx. 4 minutes of flight time with my new GNB 2S 550mah LIPOs. I hope that helps and I'll see you in the Air!

This may help, if you cannot exceed -100 / 100 and Trim doesn't work: If you use for eg. Jumper 12TX (OpenTX transmitter) soultion: search for E-trim (extended trim), allow. Search "output page" set channel to -110%. Motor works now. Start-Lock Function: Start-Lock Function is the onboard brush ESC function of preventing brush motor from starting by mistake. It can protect the brush motor from starting even throttle stick not at the lowest position when the receiver is powered. As soon as the receiver gets the signal and the throttle stick on your transmitter is at the lowest position for 2 seconds the first time, Start-Lock will be released then, the brush motor will run when the throttle stick is pushed. Somme ESC expect ppm signal at 998 (usually 1000).

Gnubbel, thank you for the tip on setting up the Brushed ESC in OpenTX. The safety switch for the throttle is also a very good idea and I always setup a throttle safety switch on my TX. The setting of -110 is usually where I set my throttle safety switch as well. This should help those using OpenTX ;-) See you in the Air!

All the servo on my plane jitters when i increase the throttle. What might be the problem?
@GroundControlRC

Could be Motor Wiring is close to the Servo Wire. Could be a bad Servo causing the Receiver to Jitter the Servos. Could be something applying pressure to a Servo causing it to Jitter. Could be a bad Receiver.

I have not tried to FPV this model yet but I'm going to ;-) I want to test it with a 1020 Motor and 3" Prop to see if that adds more power first. The Micro DSM2/DSMX Receiver I have listed in the Show Notes goes into bind mode on you first power up, so you just need to put your Transmitter into bind mode after the Receiver powers up and you should be good to go. @@crcu1ttv1957 , I'm not familiar with that transmitter and receiver, but the bind plug will go into the BAT port on the receiver. Put the bind plug into the BAT port of the receiver and power on the receiver. Then power on the transmitter and make sure you have a model setup for the proper protocol. Press the BIND button on the transmitter and you should get bind on the receiver. Power off the receiver and remove the BIND Plug. Power the receiver back on and make sure you still have bind. Sometimes they have trouble performing BIND it the transmitter and receiver are too close to each other so make sure you are some distance from the receiver when performing the bind.

Hi, i recently have this problem on my new 400mm eachine f4u. Its intermittent. Can it be fixed ? thanks
@GroundControlRC

Good question! I would say possibly. Sometimes if the Gyro gets out of calibration strange things can happen. The first thing I would try is re-calibrating the Gyro. I don't know if you've already done that or not. If not, I would try that first. Second, when it happens rotate the prop a bit and try again. I could be dirt or binding on the gearbox. Mine have been nosed in quite a bit so I'm surprised I haven't damage the gearbox or motor yet ;-) Third, try a bit of down trim on the throttle and see if that fixes the issue. Fourth, it could be you have a slight amount of positive throttle engaged when binding. Make sure your throttle stick is all the way down before binding to the transmitter as that can cause the ESC not to initialize and therefore no throttle response. I hope those things steer you in the right direction. See you in the Air!

Ground Control RC, I had re-cal the tx. That didn’t help much. I’m using the tx which came with the plane. Therefore no throttle trim :-D Tried manually spinning the prop n it spins! I gave a little WD40 to the motor from the front then. But motor couldn’t turn as fast as it would when newer. I guess it’s maybe time to change out the motor or upgrade it to brushless?

@@tonyloh6140 , it does sound like the motor has gotten weak. I wonder how many flights you have on it? I've had brushed motors that worked for over a hundred flights and some that only lasted 25 flights.
@GroundControlRC
4 жыл бұрын
@@tonyloh6140 , it could be, although, it could be a loose wire as well. Sometimes wires can get broken inside the wire insulation or have a weak solder point. If the motor an esc have gone at the same time it could have been that motor or gearbox was bound up and overheated both. I'd check resistance of the wires to see if it's just a bad connection.

Hi. I have a spektrum dx6i transmitter. What do I have to do to make the throttle works?
@GroundControlRC
4 жыл бұрын
This procedure worked for me and others. Make sure your throttle trim is all the way down before you power on the ESC. I also went through the procedure of programming the ESC throttle high and low stick, just in case. The same way you would for a brushless ESC. If that doesn't work I would try setting my throttle points in the transmitter so the low end of the throttle was lower than normal. If that doesn't work you may have a faulty ESC. I hope that helps.

@@1323aapq , yes as the brushed ESC is the issue. I have a brushed motor on this plane and it was the brushed ESC that was causing this issue with the throttle not responding. I've never had this issue with a brushless ESC but apparently the brushed ESC sees positive throttle when it shouldn't and therefore will not arm the motor.
