After the trip I checked my card statement and discovered the extra charge. I disputed the charge and contacted the restraunt! The mgr stated that she was entitled to do that! Not only no but F no! Tipping is how prices are kept low. It turns it into a guessing game for the customer rather than a "This is the price". Most Americans guess too high and this why people wouldn't do away with tips. Also, most Americans are stupid and if places increased the prices, they would buy from somewhere else. They don't care that they don't have to tip, the higher prices puts them off even if the price is lower after accounting for tips. Until Americans are just less stupid with math $15 + $3 tip is more than $17 with no tip, tipping will remain. The sad thing is that tipping has become so common that places that don't require tipping, try to sneak it in as if it's actually expected. I don't tip these people a penny. If I don't have a waiter/waitress, you get nothing extra. I actively avoid waiters/waitresses if I can. The coffee tips, the pickup order tips, the self serve tips, and etc are just bad. The delivery driver tips.... sadly have stay just like the waitress/waiter tips. Until a "fare" is added to delivery drivers to account for mileage on the car that goes DIRECTLY to the driver and until a restaurant with waiters can actually succeed without going out of business in less than a year after raising prices to remove tips, it just won't happen. However, we can all ignore the asks for tips on every other system. Don't tip your barista nor when you pick up your food. Don't tip if your drinks are self serve. Don't tip if you pay for your food before you are done eating it. For your delivery driver. Know how many miles they have driven, don't tip them, just give them a fare based on the miles. The waitress, pay attention to how many customers they have and how inattentive they are with you. NEVER over tip.

Tipping is something kind people do when they receive a service and are happy with the service they received. If you’re broke or simply not kind then don’t tip, but don’t expect others to do the same just cause you aren’t very intelligent.. servers in Europe make shit wages and it’s mostly high school kids or college students, and there is wayyyyy less restaurants per square mile within basically every US city. We have so many food options and places to eat in America because of tipping. It allows businesses to generate more profit while also giving their servers a chance at making good money. It’s the same concept as if you’re a car salesman, you wouldn’t want base pay right? You want commission. Being entitled to work for your money makes you value it more and makes you a better person. Disagree with the way that's set up? Fine, don't use the app and take it out on your driver by expecting them to deliver your food for nothing. It's your right to think it's unreasonable to expect tips, but drivers will NOT work for nothing, and if you want to use the app but don't like tipping, well, you're a massive hypocrite and entitled up the wazu (in this case, at least. I mean, tipping for the drive thru? Come on, that's ridiculous.) Just keep in mind, that if the apps paid their drivers directly, you'd have $10-12 added to the current costs for that because that money has to come from somewhere.

You do realize if workers don't make tips they still make the minimum anyways. Let's be honest with ourselves, being a waiter is not hard.

@@korcommanderstill the tipping thing is just really bad for the waiters. It’s better to have a guaranteed chance of getting minimum wage than a chance of getting minimum wage from tips alone

@@korcommander Wow okay, tell me you've never been a waiter without telling me you've never been a waiter, I'd love to see you wait 5+ tables during the dinner rush. Also no, a waiter can make less than minimum wage if they don't get tips, and those who do make minimum are likely not to get salary increases if tipping is used. Jesus man, don't comment stupid crap.

Nah as a server I get more money off tips then the cafe I work at would pay me as a wage. On average after tips I get give or take between 25-32 dollars an hour. The company would likely pay me 18-20 dollars an hour so I’m good with my tips lol.

Here in Argentina, we commonly dont tip, but if in a restaurant the waiter is cool you can just tip them not asking for change or telling "keep the change" when you pay or let some money on the table for them when they clean the table

An employee at any job should be paid more when they decide to not work overtime because no one under any circumstances should have to sacrifice their mental and emotional health by working overtime just for the sake of a higher paycheck🙄😒😡

I hate when people bring this up. You guys stop supporting them until then this is tip culture here I understand not tipping someone that just hands food to you but if they drive using their car or they run around the restaurant serving you, you shouldnt punish that person because you don't believe to tip.

Hey I'm all for it. Just so you know that if employers pay their employees the wages you all are talking about, then the cost of food will go up dramatically so it would eliminate the non-tippers as is, because they wouldn't be able to afford that place after the changes. It's amazing how many people do not understand simple basic economics 😂

I'm one of the few in USA who wants tipping to stop. Not only do you get the issues this guy went over, but you also have people working who will get fired for accepting a tip that a customer insists and forces you to take. It's even labeled as theft and as the companies money as you are already paid an agreed upon wage.

Tipping is just like the toy you get with a kids meal. It’s not essential, but it’s a cool bonus.

If i order something I order online and go get the food myself, so I don't have to deal with potential shit from delivery people. The only time I tip is when I go to a restaurant and eat there and that's if the server is not rude and doesn't care

They're on here trying to shame us, for not wanting to tip in EVERY SINGLE situation. Just like those bastards could call us ALL lazy for ordering fast food, we can call them all greedy for begging for money that isn't theirs. Most times, people go to pick up their food. If we're called "lazy" then we should ONLY pick up our food rather than EVER order door dash, and see how their greedy asses survive WITH NO WORK 😂😂😠.

Not to mention being told we have to tip even after receiving bad service. A lot of servers and bartenders don’t even work for the tip anymore, it’s just expected for nothing.

It’s so annoying, and I’ve been on both sides. Like why are we panhandling the people who pay us for a service? It’s ridiculous
