My household has not embraced advanced prepping but have incorporated stir fried frozen vegetables into our menu. Costco has a great frozen Stir Fried mix of BIG sized vegetables. Presentation looks colorful and they taste good. Not sure I agree with one of the commenters that frozen vegetables are an unhealthy shortcut.

I agree with you. Flash frozen is often better and retains many more nutrients than regular veggies. That is because frozen vegetables are frozen immediately after harvest at their nutritional best. Fresh veggies are unfortunately shipped often for long times and then lay around in the supermarket where they lose a lot of their nutritional value. So frozen is most likely better. Except of course if you have a vegetable garden and bring the veggies in straight from the outside or are able to shop right at a farm. That would preferable of course. But most of us don’t have that option. So, like you, I have to stick with frozen to get the best nutrition.

My struggle with using frozen vegetables in the wok is that usually the frozen vegetables introduce a lot of water to the wok once they hit the pan, and it saps a lot of the heat from the wok. Then they end up simmering instead of stir frying. Any tips? I just have a regular gas stove, not a restaurant style high-intensity burner

What about larger frozen veggies? I tried to make a stir fry last night with large pieces of carrot and broccoli. (also small like corn and cut spinach etc.) My rice turned out mushy. I cooked the eggs and meat separately and the reintroduced them. I also did 5 "individual stir fries so they could be personalized. But any with large or lots of veggies all came out mushy. What should be the order of operation? With the large pieces should I put them in before the rice or cook them separately as well? Any ideas? Thanks for great videos that has helped me on my wok journey! xoxo

Personally I think your order is correct but in my experience I would reintroduce meat and eggs about 90 seconds before the frozen vegetables are done. I worry more about the crispness of the vegetables than cooking together for an extended time. Your dish will be hot enough with 90 seconds as the final stir fry

With frozen veggies, if I run out of Advance Prepped vegetables, that is a very helpful safety net.

If it is a whole food it provides all the types of protein needed. Watch the Starch Solution about 1 hour 20 minutes.

I personally view cooking frozen food as an unhealthy shortcut and try to always use fresh produce. The video is great as usual, though.

Frozen vegetables are actually very healthy as they have retained their vitamins and minerals in freezing. Sometimes they are considered fresher than fresh vegetables that may take a long time to get to your table.
