For me everything is now instinctive. Practice practice practice. You'll realize turning is harder if you have to really consciously think about it while in the process. I realized that on narrower roads you require more turns of the steer otherwise you'll branch into the opposite lane.

I restarted my lessons after finishing my studies and moving... This left knee technique is something that I ended up doing instinctively! My instructor thought I was crazy when I mentioned it to him, but now I feel justified!

Thank you for another informative video in steering because I have been struggling with it due to the road structures. Thank you for being meticulous about this and I now am having a little problem when to steer being a parked car after giving way to oncoming traffic. Nearly struck a parked car and I have been anxious about it ever since because of understeering. Thank you for teaching and I am really grateful for all the videos I've learnt from so far.

In South Korea, some taxi drivers, and presumably other drivers, have a knob on the steering wheel to facilitate 'wax on, wax off' steering.

Can you let the car self straighten on the driving test as long as you stay in control or would that be a fail despite whether or not you keep control? I love your videos they're so helpful! *EDIT* I don't mean completely let go and just let it do it's thing but if I keep my hands very gently on the wheel but let the car take the brunt of the steering and step in if necessary

Well I was today years old that i learned i had claws on my hands instead of fingers 😂😂😂😂 Honestly after getting my licence i thought to myself "welp nothing more to learn!" But no! after watching your videos i can turn better, stop better, park better, stay in the middle of the lane better, and almost never stall anymore. You really teach every driver or driver to be! Thanks Richard! Question, in which situations we should look at the blind spots? Everytime we change lanes or are there a specific place to check?

Can you please do a video to on how to park on a kerb. Not hitting your car on the higher part of the kerb. Going on to the lower kerb first. Sorry if this doesn't make sense.

Thank you for this video! I know we should go into inside lane in the roundabout when we go right but how much should I steer in the inside lane? I am always struggling with getting too close to the kerb of the roundabout or crossing to the left lane. Is there any video to deal with this?

UK and South African roads are similar, but we test with Trucks and lorries, any tips on how to steer a Truck or lorry, im from South Africa by the way

It's how you can judge your position. Where you feel your left knee is in the road, is where the middle of your car is in the road.

Your left knee technique has helped me massively. In first four lessons the instructor would keep grabbing my wheel to straighten it which really annoyed me. After watching your videos I have immensely overcome this issue. Thank you.

@@monaewilliams3596 it was a bit daunting, but I’ve had two more lessons since then and just picked it up really quickly! Once you get a good understanding of how the car works, you can start to learn how to drive on different roads properly and stuff! Good luck on your lesson! :)

Your tips and videos really helped me alot as I'm a driving student, especially I'm now able to steer without worrying about curbs and just focusing on the direction I want to go. My instructors don't really teach much but would just guide to WHERE you should go. You made me fill in the gaps of WHAT I should know to execute my driving properly. Kudos as you're a better driving teacher than actual ones I know :)

I am very grateful for this channel and all the educational contents that helped me to pass my driving test and overall be a better driver. I passed my driving test on Friday with only 1 minor and had not one but TWO examiners sitting with me on test. Still a surreal feeling but hats off to this channel.

Thanks for the videos! I was wondering if you can do one about how new drivers should cope with sudden decisions. Like a sudden yellow light. Does reacting appropriately come with experience? As a learner, I get very nervous when I make a mistake (stopping not quickly enough/gauging if I should stop or pass the yellow light) and then it affects the rest of my driving lesson for the day. I’m learning manual driving in Australia (same side as UK)

9:40 my uk instructor give the same reason. also he told me that aim to stop Formula 1 trainee's crossing arm habbit, a plastic sheild will be placed which cover the centre of the steering wheel .

Thank you, the key to driving next to lorries and buses is to avoid driving next to them on bends. When it comes to Approaching large vehicles try to look at the space not the vehicles. Also be prepared to stop and wait as it's not always wide enough depending on the road.

could you do a video on microsteering on roads with higher speeds? When I watch others drive on long roads, they barely adjust the wheel and still manage to stay in the lane. I feel like I'm constantly micromanaging the wheel to keep my "balance" in the lane 😳
