“Incredibly practical” is how I would describe all your tips man. I’ve always been thrown way too much information that ends up contradicting the prior stuff I thought I learned. This was really easy to follow. Now I’ve got to convince myself to leave the boat in the slip on a calm early summer morning. That’s a tough call to make most of the times. Thanks again Capt!

Thanks for the info about the cuts in the surf. I was telling my wife this, but she's worried about the rip currents that these may represent. Do these cuts also mean that's where the rip currents are as well? Been fishing from Bolivar to Freeport surf for over 4 decades, I never paid alot of attention to where the breakers start or end til the past few years, always looked for birds and bait. Appreciate this info, it definitely helps.

great presentation, so, my question to you is, how often is Google Earth updated. its 7-22-21 as I type this. Storm surges, tropical depressions etc continually change the shore line here in Galveston. Is there another app IE Google Maps etc thats more up to date/current. just trying to something thats up to date to cut down on time. Thank you.
@joshcfishing1621
3 жыл бұрын
Google Earth is updated every few months from what I can tell. You can scroll through time the various images were taken which gives a good sense of how the area has changed over time and how it looks during different tide heights which is nice.

@@CaptCalebTV Back and forth from the beachfront to the bay. It may not matter. And thanks for the info about passes. I guess you'd tell me to wait for the correct weather/wind, fish tidal movement, look for bait, and look for those cuts? Hope I took away the main points....
@CaptCalebTV

*nailed it. I do believe fish move from the surf to the bays and back, especially in certain bays. Not all of em, but some of them. That’s where you get your tiderunners in bays like Galveston. My assumption, as I’m not a biologist.

aren't the cuts where the water is actually draining back to the ocean mostly? The waves bring plenty of water on shore, but the holes in the sandbar act as drains to let it escape back to the sea? In other words, the places where you'd expect to find riptides if you were swimming?
