I wouldnt go giving discounts for "potential" favors, I used to do that, time will tell.

You would think it helps but it makes me sound arrogant and a know it all and people hate that! To make it on KZitem you have to be a click baiter and only show cool stuff that will grab people’s attention. Sad lol but end of day I care about people who want to make a honest living 😎👊

Great advice! I’m starting an excavation business right now any your channel has helped a bunch. Just watching how you interact with your crew and tackle jobs. I know it would be a lot of work but a video on logistics and planning would be cool to see. I’ve been an employee for the last nineteen years working off a set of plans, so doing my own thing with all the planning is a whole new world. Keep up the good work man!

The one expense I don't think you mentioned was those lunches you buy for your crew. You gave out a lot of great advice to People trying to run a business. The fastest way to go out of business is bid too low. The second fastest is bit too high you made a good point on that. The last thing is watch the debt in the business and personal life so you don't get over extended. Next time there's another job that I can have you do in my area. You know you've got it without question.

Thank you! Great video answered all my questions from last night! Have you dug 4 feet deep with your mini in very rocky/shale type dirt? Was the mini enough or did you use your breaker a bunch?

I’ve dug down 8ft for a pool with it. The machine has a lot of power. The bucket is sized perfectly for the machine 😎👊

Are you using any advanced surveying/layout methods? If yes, in 3D? There's a pretty neat newish system from Trimble that is aimed at smallish contractors. 3D rover, single GNSS antenna and you can take the antenna from the rover pole and attach it to your excavator, and now you have 3D grade control. No base station. Just use an RTK correction sevice. Can do onsite/in field design.

Sounds expensive 😂😂

@@JamesMoVlogs correct. But I wonder how long it would pay for itself, when wasted time jumping in and out of machine, and not paying someone to hold grade stick. But expensive, yes. However, less cost difference to the 2D upgraded. Much much much less.

This was really interesting... I have a question (not bidding tho)- Since you were using your tractor-backhoe, do you use your mini-x in backoe or CAT controls? Seems like it could be a pain to be good w/ both 💁♂️
