Tiranga Rava Dhokla Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups Semolina (Rava)
- 1 cup Curd
- Salt to taste
- Eno powder or Baking soda
- 1 cup Carrot puree
- 1 cup Spinach puree
Method:
1. Prepare the Batter:
- Mix the semolina, curd, and salt in a bowl. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
2. Divide and Color the Batter:
- Divide the batter into three equal parts.
- Mix the carrot puree into one part to create the orange batter.
- Mix the spinach puree into another part for the green batter.
- Leave the third part plain for the white batter.
3. Steam the Layers:
- For the first layer (orange), mix Eno powder or baking soda into the orange batter and pour it into a greased steaming tray. Steam for 5 minutes.
- Repeat the process with the white batter (plain) and the green batter, steaming each layer separately for 5 minutes.
- Once all layers are stacked, steam the entire dhokla for an additional 7-8 minutes.
4. Check for Doneness:
- Insert a toothpick into the dhokla; if it comes out clean, the dhokla is ready. Allow it to cool for 5-7 minutes.
5. Add Tadka:
- Heat oil in a small pan, add mustard seeds and curry leaves, and let them splutter. Pour this tempering over the cooled dhokla.
6. Serve:
- Slice and serve your tricolor dhokla as a colorful, delicious treat!
