I have a reliable 1911 in 45 and 38 super but ammo is expensive these days, so I have been really tempted to get a 1911 in 9mm. There is talk that since the 1911 platform is being modified for the 9mm cartridge it tends to be more prone to jams and malfunctions, compared to any other handgun design which was originally made for the 9mm. It reminds me of those ak47 made to run 223/5.56 ammo, only a few work well but for the most part they are problematic. Thanks for sharing your experience, it helped me a lot. I think I will stick to platforms that were originally designed for the 9mm. I hear you on the disappointment of it not running HP, it defeats the whole purpose of having a 9mm I believe.

Tisas 1911s are made way better than the ones made in the 1920s and 30s for sure. I don’t care who makes a 1911 nowadays, they’re still a milspec design from the year of 1911 by John Browning. Tisas 1911s are not cheaply made, their economy dictates their smart pricing because when their economy rebounds the prices will go up.

Most people won’t shoot enough rounds through a 1911 to wear one out be it cast or forged. As for mim parts ,well I’m thinking my Glocks are mostly mim, stamped or plastic parts and I’ve got a gen two with well over 20,000 rounds I’m sure. So I guess it comes down to some folks don't want to support a Muslim company from turkey. To each his own. If I ever need a 500.00 1911. I’ll buy the Rock Island.

I mostly agree - I think the chrome plating and cerakote are the more important freebies you get with this pistol. From experience chrome barrels and chambers need to be cleaned much less frequently to avoid corrosion, which is really nice if you shoot on and off and don't want to have to clean it every time you take it out into the woods. As for it being made in Turkey by Muslims, I have no dog in that fight.
